Hello,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Wharfdale TV picture turns off sound stays on.

Check and replace its main board. It is faulty. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

You need to check the input selection on your tv on screen menu. Some AV in settings will pick up part of a signal but not all. Make sure you try all input selections.
To prove that the problem is not in the AV lead.....try connecting it on another small tv with a known working DVD/TV combination.

Went away for a week plasma turned off at mains came back turned tv on it normally gives 3 clicks then comes on but it only gives 2 clicks,power is going to the tv as it gets hot you can see it light up...

the problem is going to be internal and i would recommend a repair serivce.

Potential causes for the problem are:

Turning the main power on while the tv is plugged into the outlet.
A power surge or dip
The tv being bumped or dropped
the tv being exposed to warm or cold temperatures.
