RCA D52W17 Picture is cut off at the top of screen

I would just replace the TV, the parts are not going to be made to repair this. The set is just to old.

RCA Entertainment Series 32" Plus Gold, GEMSTAR, xbox ready has been in the shop twice so far. Transformer replaced and 6 months later the picture suddenly had horizontal white lines that gradually spaced apart more from top to bottom and it had a gray hue and fuzzy, but I still watched it for 3 months that way. Today I turned it on and about a minute later I heard a loud crackling sound coming from the back and the picture disappeared, screen went black. Is it worth fixing again? sounds like the flyback if your talking about the lower left when looking at the rear of the set.

There is a cap behind a heatsink on the Deflection board I believe it is CP150 or 180 which is a 2200uf/35v

first to change format push the arrow button to the left or right. if you go into piicture in the menu then go to avance picture settings then turnoff or uncheck autoformat.

The remote receiver in the TV is failed. It is possible that a TV repair shop might be able to fix the problem for you

Possiblility include bad convergence cuircit. A component that is overheating and bad solder connections.. Technicians can use special equipment to read error codes... this will tell them the error that is shutting it down

in the sound settings is the amplifer set to external or internal.
if thats not the problem.. the audio amp chip might be out. to repair this a technician usally replaces what is know as the small signal board.
