Use the xlr (3 prong) main left and right outputs of the board. get xlr to 1/4 inch cables. one end will be 3 prong, to plug into the mixer, then the other end will be a mono 1/4 inch plug, like a big headphone plug. Then you have to get a dual mono 1/4 inch to stereo 1/8 inch adapter and plug it noto the line in. if there is no lone in, but a microphone jack instead, you will get a mono signal instead of a stereo signal. in this case, just use 1 channel of the mixer, instead of both of the stereo outs, and use a single mono 1/4 inch to mono 1/8 inch adapter.

the xlr to 1/4 inch cables can be purchased at a music store. the 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapters will probably need to be purchased at radio shack.

How do I hook up two powered 15's and two passive 15's to this mixer(1202-VLZ3)?

You connect the powered 15's using balanced cables. The passive speakers you will have to get an amplifier for as the mixer does NOT have a powered output, only line-level audio outputs.
The powered speakers MAY have audio line level outputs to continue to other powered speakers or, as in your case, external amplifiers to drive your passive speakers.
Remember to power ALL interconnected equipment from the same receptacle or source to avoid ground bounce faults that can destroy sensitive circuits in your equipment.

Good day i have a second hand mixer and my problem is the main output, headphone are humming what solution to this and thanks ........ joel bee

Download the schematic:

http://elektrotanya.com/mackie_1202-vlz_pro_schematic_diagram.pdf/download.html

On page 10 you will find the power supply. You will likely find a failure among the components:

D4, D5, D6, D7, C1 or C2

There could also be a circuit board crack around these items.

C1 or C2 is the most probable failure. They are 2200mfd/25 volt electrolytics.

What exactly do I need to connect a Mackie 402-VLZ3 to a Macbook Pro ? Where can I buy the cables? Thanks!

The internal audio systems in the PC's are inadequate for high quality work. You should get an external audio system that attaches via firewire or USB to your MAC. Then use balanced cables from the mixer to this audio interface. There are MANY different audio interfaces... Search the music equipment suppliers in the "recording" section of their catalog...

Type pf op amp in a Behringer XENYX 1204USB Mixer and a Mackie - 1202-VLZ3

Behringer uses 4580's in appropriate packaging everywhere. There are 339 comparators for the level indicator area.

The Mackies uses both NJM2068 and NJM4560M

The 2068' are used in most of the low noise areas and the 4560 is used in the 75Hz high pass filter for example.

Computer->M-Audio-FastTrackPro USB->trs outputs 1/2->linein 11-12 of mackie 1202-vlz3. How can i get stereo sound out of the mackie?

Use TRS to TRS balanced cables from the M Audio to the line in 11 and 12.

Set the pan controls for the 11 and 12 to opposite directions to split the stereo to left and right main outputs. (otherwise both main outs mix the left and right and you get mono result.
