I have an LG side by side fridge/freezer model GR-L206CVQA.
The display panel locks up and I cannot change the dispenser it is stuck on crushed ice. then all of a sudden there is a rattling noise and the display and dispenser is in normal good operation crushed ice, chilled water and ice cubes available also reset of fridge and freezer temperature set points. After 30 minutes or so it locks up again and may stay locked for 24 hours or so.

sounds like you have a stuck dispenser solenoid. look in the back of the freezer where the bucket shift arm enters the drive assembly. i would guess the actuator is stuck in the "up" position. the solenoid usually sticks up and should be cleared and lubricated so frost does not cause the solenoid to stick up.
You have a solenoid switch which switches the
dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working
or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to
observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the
solenoid
Ihave zannusi ZX99/5SI fridge freezer. Top-freezer compartment is not cooling. I have done as before, defrosted and cleaned both fridge and freezer but, with no luck. Freezer is working OK but top-fridge is not cooling. Could you please help with advice in what to de next.

If you pull out the collecor of ice can you then hear and see rotater arm rotating in the back of freezer. If not you need to remove panel and check for voltage at notor and inspect motor.
