LG scoop not charging well

I plugged in my almost brand new lg scoop (1 month old) and it will only charge when I hold the phone in certain positions. Is there a problem with the phone or just the charger?

i have an lg scoop& it's the third one i've had,and yet once again,i'm goin back to the alltel store to give them another $50 for a new phone.my insurance only replaces the same kind of phone i already have&it's always refurbished.i love this phone and the keyboard and almost everything about it except the camera, but i can deal with that.but the charge port or whatever AlWAYS goes out on these phones!it's really annoying and pisses me off.when my contract is up i'm for sure getting a new type of phone.alltel's service is great but lg's phones are a piece of ****.

yeah, but why did they have to not sell the phone anymore?
really only one reason i wanted a phone is/ was because i wanted a lg scoop. but now they dont have them and i dont want to get a lg rumer because i hate the style! (in the phone) it is soooo ugly! i hate itt.

The problem is your charge port on the phone. I've already had to have mine replaced and my daughters due to this issue. My girlfriends son had this phone to and has had his replaced twice already.
It is not entirely the charger! The problem is the phone port. The rep at alltel told me this phone is the most problematic phone they sell due to this issue!

Have the phone replaced under warranty if its under a year old, otherwise hope you have your insurance!

Other things to consider before having it replaced:
Backup your contact list! They cannot transfer it for you to the new phone when the port is bad and you cannot save your contacts to an SDcard either.
If you have any music, pictures etc, get the microSD card and back them all up to that so that you don't lose them either. Just don't buy the card from alltel, they want twice as much for it as you can get it for from Walmart/BestBuy etc..
Hope this help any of you out here from experiencing the pains that I've gone through with it..

I have had the same problem (Didnt have warrenty or insurance) it was over a year old. And its the second one iv been through. I you want to make your broken LG scoop last longer (The charger port is broken) You can take anouther cell phone charger (ot the one that came with the charger) and cut the end off. You should be able to split the wire so you have the negitive and positive ends of the wire (Sometimes theirs three wires but the extra should match one of the two others, just twist them together) Take the battery off the phone, you will then notice three gold looking connecters at the bottom of the phone (on the phone not the battery) if you take one of the split charger wires (You might not know if its poisitive or negitive) and slide it under one of the gold prongs (the right side or left side) and do the same with the other split wire on the oppisite side. then carfully place the battery back in, keeping the wires in place. Turn the phone on (If it doesnt go on, you may have to change sides of the wire because they may be wrong possitive and negitive sides, or they sliped out of place) Dont worry its safe and wont get hot. But your phone should retain some charge (I get all day if i dont use it, or about 40min straight using it) or keep it pluged in if you want to talk all day.

Somtimes its hard to put the battery back on and for it to stay they, so you need to puch it on the phone as hard as you can and stick your fingernail under the clip (The one you have to push to remove the battery) and move it up to hold the battery in place.

This should buy you some time untill you get a new phone. It just stinks to have to replace the wires to the phone everytime you need to charge it. but it works.

The problem is the connector of your charger, try to change the charger that is to fix the whole of your phone so that it can charge in any position. If you can used your charger see to it that is charging when you hold the phone in certain positions or else your battery of your phone is damage and also your phone.

Revived wet phone only works when plugged in

Yes if it only works on the charger than that means that the battery is fried due to the water damage if you replace the battery the new will hold a charge and it should work. cause the water damage probably is keeping the old battery from holding any kind of charge. Hope this works for you

Battery doesn't charge

well there are 2 things here.
1.it could be the battery or 2 .it could be the charger.

best thing to do is take it to a dealerfor LG ask them to try a new battery, and also to find out if its the charger, .Your battery won`t be covered , but a charger will. Hope i helped.

Lg venus wont charge

Mine has the same problem!! it's definitly the phone I've tried 300 different chargers

mine has gotten so bad I have to hold it in place the whole time that it is charging

recently I made a contraption out of duct tape and a vice grip to hold the cord in the right place that it would keep charging

that worked for a while but now even that is unreliable

it sucks

I will never buy an LG Venus again

My solution : Get a new (completely different) phone

Phone not charging

either your cord is broken, or the charger port in your phone is broken. If it is less than a year old alltel will send it in and if they see that it was not intentional they will send you a new one.

Charging lg kg 220 phone

Almost certainly liquid damage to the lower part of the phone!

Depending on your skills, removing the back cover (the bottom lifts after removing the four screws and then you need to twist and tug the top to get the back off) and clean the bottom 1/4 of the phone using a toothbrush soaked in isopropyl alcohol. Then dry completely with hot air, a hair dryer will suffice.

10 out 10 non-charging KG-220 seem here in the last six months were all fixed using this method!

The classic indication is when plugging the charger into the switch on phone, the handset turns off.
