Fitted new Asus gt220 graphics card but all I get is black screen showing memory test (really slow) Then warning message saying system may be overclocked and nothing else. Have put back old geeforce 7300 gs and everything is fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.Asus P5V-VM DH motherboard. 400gb hard drive. 4000mb ram. Intel dual core 3.4 x 2 64 bit. . Phoned shop but didnt want to know

Your Asus graphics card seems to have temperature issue.Go to the bios and increase the fun speed or buy a cooler.

Did you turn your current graphics card down to 256 colors(more then likely your old video card is built into the motherboard). You have to do that before you install the card or that may be causing your error.

Your PC keeps restarting because while playing your video card is highly solicited,and this causes overheating. The solution to your issue is to buy a cooling fan and attach it to the cooling grid.

Firstly, check that you have latest graphics driver or not.
If not then download the latest driver of your graphics driver.
After that remove your old graphics driver and install the latest graphics driver and then install the latest DirectX 9.0c also for Win XP.

Note : After each and every installtion just restart you machine.

Also, if that card has dual outputs, such as 2 DVI connectors, try connecting your monitor to the other one.

Hi there. Really you know, you have answered ur own Q!.
No it is not compatible. Best thing you can do is, get in contact with your supplier, make sure you can return goods with complete packaging, explain you ordered the wrong item and you would like to exchange for the correct specs card.

You should have to much difficulty, CCL I understand are only to please assit?

So from can i see this card does not have really any true online ratings. However to let you know lag can come from a lot of different places. Memory, processor, having a slow FSB on the motherboard. I mean a lot of thing can play into these problems. You would have to provide a full system build out of what you have to try to troubleshoot any problems not just this video card.

I fitted nvidia GT220 graphics card to Geforce 100SM-M motheboard
You should restart the pc 1st, once it show the bios, hit DELETE key to enter bios setup.
Once there check, go to the advanced chipset feature. Highlight the onboard gpu then press enter. There should be the option to disable it.

Depends, increasing the memory will speeds up the system overall. However, you are using slide shows photos, rendering video which will slow down any system that uses a graphics card with slow memory on it or too little memory. It may be an Asus MB but it was made for Fujitsu. The motherboard does have a PCI-E slot. If you increase you're memory to 2GB and install a fast PCI-E graphics card with 512MGB of DDR3 memory you're system will run much faster.

Sounds like the CPU is overclocked in your system. I would clear CMOS the try it again. The CPU is probably overclocked to far causing it to become unstable.

near the top of list will be display adapter click the little + by it a drop down list will appear right click the graphics listed go to properties/drivers click update driver it will then go on internet to find driver

Defect ASUS V8420 ?
I don't understand, please explain more:

0) What kind of a monitor is it ?

1) If the monitor is NOT plugged into a working video card,
it should blank out or display some sort of a
"NO SYNC" or "NO SIGNAL" or "UNPLUGGED" warning.

The power light may also flash or show a different color.

2) If the monitor is plugged into a working video card,
it should wake up from the inactive power-saving mode
and display the desktop.

3) If the video card is malfunctioning, or if the windows
video settings are set outside of the monitor's sync limits,
the monitor may turn off or display a warning message,
such as:

No sync, Out of range ... etc.

4) The repair situation (3), reboot windows into
safe mode:

a) Press Hardware Reset

b) After the power-on self-test (POST) and memory check
press and hold the F8 Key

c) Select Safe mode

d) Login to windows at low resolution

e) Right-click on the desktop, chose:

Properties -> Settings -> Set the correct resolution, apply
Click advanced -> monitor -> set the correct refresh rate.

Reboot normally

PS, some monitors have dual inputs: VGA or DVI
make sure the correct input is selected, depending
on your cable (VGA is a 15 pin "D" connector,
DVI is a larger connector with many more FLAT pins)


Also some video cards have multiple outputs, which are
activated only if a correct monitor is attached BEFORE
reset.
