My Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108 - Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Optical Zoom 40x started to give this message:
"Movie Recording Disabled"
It recorded many times before without a problem, but today it started to refuse to record with this message. I didn't disabled or don't know how to.
I have a disc in the camera - Same disc I've used before. I turned it off and on to see if the problem goes away! I removed and re-insert the disc, no change! I remove and re-attached the battery, no change.
I've had it since August of 2007 without a problem! Until today!
What can I do to enable the recording function?
KD.
Please, I need support of camera technical carl zeiss vario tessar with otptical zoom 40x
Guys hope you all found the solution like me who had same issue. if you
noticed, it says about the aspect ratio and that means the formated
disc aspect ratio is not compatible with the aspect ratio your camera
need. so re-formating the dvd with right aspect ratio solved the
problem quickly and we have peace.

I made of their anniversary party. Please help!!!
i tried making a home video yesterday of my mom-in-law's b-day,but apparently my bro-in-law tells me i recorded nothing at all on the disc yet I may have the recording on my cam ... is this possible i have a memory built in the handycam?&if so,how do I get it out?ASPECT RATIO?????????? could it be because i'm using dvd-r when it's +r dl compatible?

Movie recording diabled
Movie Recording Disabled sony dcr-dvd108.....and I think I lost the stuff on the disc ....I have a sony dvd-r which is what it says to use....help
My Sony Handycam has same problem. Two disks I was recording on show "Movie Recording Disabled". Cannot finalize or view scenes in camcorder. When I try to import using the Picture Motion Browser, I get message "Cannot import because this disk is not supported." Using Sony Handycam mini-disks DVD+RW. If I reformat, I'll lose all video recordings. Then I'll also be afraid to use the disks or the camcorder because this same problem could occur again without any real solution.
My camcorder- Sony Handycam 40x Optical Zoom did not come with any software and I want to transfer my footage from the disks to my computer in order to copy it to a dvd to watch on the television screen. How do I do this???
