Samsung 32 inch LCD delay in start up

Hi,
I have a 32 inch Samsung LCD T.V around 3 years old. When we press the on button on the remote the T.V takes anywhere upto an hour to actually bring the picture up. The red light flashes on the power button on the T.V but no picture or sound for a substantial peiord of time.

Thanks in advance.

We have the same problem with our 40 inch Samsung LCD. When you go to power on the tv, the red power light flickers and you hear a clicking sound for every blink of the the red power light.

I have a 42inch Samsung LCD TV almost a year old. Recently it takes around 3-5 minutes to start up and the red light flashes and hear a clicking sound please help

Yes, my 32-inch Samsung series 4 LCD has this issue, as does the 40-inch series 5 Samsung LCD at work. Four to five seconds is the standard delay, but sometimes the work machine seems to get stuck and requires a power cycle at the wall.

It's quite frustrating and I haven't found a solution to it (I've upgraded to the latest firmware).

I also have the same problem. Could anyone fix this problem?

Ditto here! It seems to take increasingly longer to start up. We also sometimes have dashed pink vertical lines on the screen that (usually) go away if we turn the set off and then turn it back on. But just today we started getting crazy-colored solid vertical lines. Does anyone know a solution to any of these problems? The set is about 1.5 years old (Samsung LCD, 40").

I have the same problem on my 8 month old Samsung LCD 40". The slow start up, vertical lines and purple specks started about 2 months ago and once it does start I have to cycle the power a few times to get rid of the specks.

This situation on many models is covered under a FREE FIX by Samsung. Check outhttp://www.samsung.com/us/capacitorsettl... for a form listing the models covered. As stated by others, it is a capacitor issue. Why try to fix it when they will for free. My unit is 5 years old and they're fixing it for FREE!

There are 4 capacitors on the main power board if they have what looks like black tar coming from the top of them they have blown and need replacing. They are what starts up the power circuit and hwhy it is increasingly longer each time to switch the set on. Until it finally wont come on

Samsung sent a tech to replace the failed capacitors on my 2-year-old 42". I had no warranty and they did it for free. It took the tech less than 20 mins and he had done lots of them. My suggestion is to get the serial and model number off the label on the back of the tv, noting the manufacture date at the same time, and call Samsung. It seems they heard the cry of the oppressed and owned up to their mistake of installing underpowered capacitors. You may get a freebie. I did not have to fight, threaten, or raise my voice, and there was no interminable number of hurdles to jump before I was speaking with a human being. I suggest you go to their website and get the contact info for your part of the world. By the way, initial contact with the repairman (after Samsung sent a fax to them itemizing the problem and authorizing the repair) was Thursday, and the fix was completed on the following Monday at lunch time.

How can I get my onkyo remote control (RC-693M) to control my Sony LCD tv?

Manual says: 1. While holding down the REMOTE MODE button for the mode in which you want to use the command, press the [ON] button. *** Hold both buttons down for 3-4 seconds *** 2. Press the button you want to learn the new command 3. Point the remote controllers at each other, about 2-6 inches apart, and then press and hold the button whose command you want to learn until the Remote indicator flashes. *** Hold them level with each other, 2-3 inches apart, and don't move them at ALL while you press the button on the old remote *** 4. To learn more commands, repeat steps 2 and 3. Press any REMOTE MODE button when you've finished. *** If the command was learned correctly, the remote indicator will flash *SLOWLY* twice - about a 1 second blink, and the red light will remain on. If the command was NOT learned correctly, it will blink twice *QUICKLY* - about .5 seconds, and the red light will go off. *** If the red light stays on, you're golden - keep going until you get to a button that flashes red quick and the light goes off. Some of the buttons I programmed took 6-7 tries in exactly the same position to learn.

Automatic wake up call

i dont know the model of the lcd but i will try help, click the menu button on the lcd or the remote , look for something that say's Timer, Wake up , Alarm , Auto on , Auto power , Auto Switch , if you find any of these option's play around with the setting's there should be a clock type thing to change and a off / on , tab to select , it also maybe under the time/clock options , otherwise on the remote look for a button that when u press, on the screen you will see something like 5 hours, 6 hours, or any time /clock looking display that comes up on the screen, and keep pressing it till it says off or -- , or zero ,

Good Luck

We have the Samsung LE32A457C1DXXU and the remote has stopped working but when I press the buttons it still flashes that it is working on the actual tele. Also the a menu comes up and stays on the screen...

hi, to me it sounds like it could be one of two things the first thing i would do is take the control apart and check for water damage spilt drinks or babys dribble can cause buttons to act as if they were stuck.
So remove the case and clean the pads behind the buttons and clean the contacts on the circuit board with dry cloth, then put it back together and give it a try.
you may find doing that will solve your problem.

If not then the chances are the remote has a fault with it causing it to not operate your telly you know the remote is giving off a signal as its showing up on the telly so it may have been dropped causing a fault with the remote.

what you could try if this is the case is go out and buy one of those all in one remotes these can be brought from next to nothing and buying one of these would tell you if the telly is at fault or the remote as if the new remote works the telly then you know the problem is with the old remote if it dont work then their is a fault with the firmware on the telly if this is the case then it would need taking in a getting repaired as this isnt something you can do yourself..

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Have a Samsung 32 inch lcd tv 720p only a year old tv will not come on but power button is lit up

Most likely defective capacitors on the power supply module. Every model of LCD has this issue so don't feel Samsung is a inferior product. It is an excellent product.

My 32 inch samsung lcd tv has got faint black lines running down the screen ,its nearly 4 years old but i expected it to last longer than that, and ive had sky hd box recently would that have anything todo...

Are these lines on both side of the screen or what location are they in? They can be caused by watching 4:3 television with the black bars on both sides. Watching 16:9 full screen HD wont cause issues with that. If only on the sides there is not much you can do except put a pure white screen on the TV and leave that on for at least 6 hours. This will age the panel a little but in theroy wil even the pixel burn you have to make the lines less noticable. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you

I need to re tune my samsung tv but have no remote any ideas?

you can always use the button on your Tv itself.

ie menu = Menu
Channel up/down = take you up and down
volume = goes left and right.

follow these steps

Menu,
channel down button to CHANNEL
press the volume button along
channel down button to AUTO STORE
press the volume button to Start the scan.

right now you have your telly tuned in. What you could do it get an old sky remote off a friend/ neighbour. or buy from argos etc ( a lot cheaper then getting a replacement samsung one)

press the following buttons on the sky remote to program it to work with your samsung tv.

TV,
RED + SELECT
TV.
0060

try the volume if this works press SELECT to save this code if it doesnt press Tv then try the volume again. repeat this step until the volume works your telly. once it doest dont forget to press the SELECT button to save.

Now you will be able to change your volume use the number keys. if you also press the HELP button on the sky remote this will also change your AV / SOURCE I hope this post helps you out. When it does please leave a thumbs up for me Please

Samsung 32 inch remote control problem

I had a similar problem. Take the batteries out of the remote, press down on the number 5 for about two minutes the put the batteries back in. This worked for me.
(I got this tip from a telesales advisor. I was close to buying a replacement remote but this tip worked. Hope it does for you. I'm not sure on the science part of it but it basically resets the remote. Good luck)
