The small diameter line out of fuel tank (has filter in-tank on end) connects directly to the side of the carburetor that has the fuel pump....that is the cover without the hole in it. Other larger diameter fuel line out of tank connects to the longer nipple on the external purge/primer bulb. The bulb "pulls" fresh fuel from the fuel tank to the carb and then out of the carb to itself, where it then "pushes" any air/old fuel back into the fuel tank. The remaining larger diameter fuel line in this setup goes from the metering chamber (has cover with writing on it and a vent-hole) side of the carburetor to the smaller nipple on the purge/primer bulb. Again, on the primer bulb, the longer nipple has a line going directly from it to the tank. This is the return line. The shorter nipple on the bub has a line from it going to the metering chamber side of the carb. If the purge/primer bulb is on top of the carb...small line from carb body to small hole in tank with filter. Larger diameter line goes from the bulb on the fuel pump side of the carb to the larger hole in the fuel tank where sometimes the line is held in place with a nylon nipple connector that keeps the line from pulling out of the tank. Otherwise, the line should enter the tank for about 1/2" or so

I have a Ryobi cs26 and I cannot get my replacement fuel line through the hole into the fuel tank. Is there a method to get the ruber line through?

Hi lscarmac...
There is a method to try to get the fuel line into the tank.

1...Insert a wire approximatly the same size as the fuel line opening, and then lubricate the out of the fuel line with a little oil/vasoline and then try to insert the fuel line into the tank.
Once you have the fuel line in the tank then remove the wire from inside the fuel line, don't forget to reinstall the fuel filter on the end that is inside the fuel tank.

Disconnected intake hose from gas tank to primer bulb

is gas line broke or disconnected? Either way it has to be reinstalled.First, get new gas line, and be sure to get it longer then you need, because, you will need to cut a sharp angle on one end then install this end into gas tank, then reach thru gas cap opening with needle nose pliers, get ahold of fuel line and pull thru. if you do not cut angle on new fuel line, you will never get the line into gas tank.

How to get gas lines in tank

You can go to Home Depot and for about $7 U.S. dollars, they sell a replacement filter, primer bulb and install wire. It is really cool. You put the install wire thru the hole in the tank where the lines come out of the tank. There is a small hook on the end. This hook fits thru a small hole in the new fuel line end which is cut on an angle. Basically this allows you to fish the new line into the tank thru the gas fill port up thru the small holes in the tank. Then just plug the tubes on the carb. Easy Pizzi !!!

Hi, I tried to start my ryobi scrub hornet and found that all the fuel lines have disintegrated and likewise the primer bulb. So I bought those parts and tried installing the fuel lines. Not knowing how...

The primer bulb is attached to the carburetor by a flange with 2 screws...the "center" port goes inside the carb. The upper port on the carburetor is a return line to the gas tank. The lower port is where the supply line is connected - this line goes into the tank and has a filter attached to the end.

I hope this helps you. Please let me know if it does or doesn't.

The fuel lines on my ryobi stinger scorpion brushcutter have deteriorated, I;ve fitted new lines but I think I;ve connected them incorrectly, it won't run.

Fuel filter to bottom of carb. The suction port of primer to the top of carb outlet line to other port to tank.
To tell which port is outlet put your finger on one port and push bulb if the bulb collapses and doesn't return then that is the inlet (suction) side.

PS. I would buy some carb cleaner and gently spray in the inlets of the carbs (sometimes pieces of the fuel lines get in there).
Good luck!

Replacing fuel lines on ryobi 767r trimmer

The longest, and sometimes smaller in diameter of the two fuel lines, goes from the carburetor to the bottom of the tank. Leave enough slack in this line so that the filter that attaches to the end will rest comfortably at the bottom of the tank.

The other fuel line goes from the primer bulb to just inside the tank, (about an inch). make sure that you get the right size fuel lines. The plastic coupling goes on the end of this line, inside the tank. This keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

(HINT): When feeding the lines through the tank holes, cut the lines at an angle. They will feed much easier into the holes. You can than cut them off square, once you know that you have enough to work with.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

I have no spark on my bc30 trimmer. I have changed the sparkplug but still no spark

You probably have a bad ignition module (coil).Or, you have a wire from the kill switch grounding the plug.

The fuel line leaks coming out of the plastic fuel tank on my Ryobi Brush Trimmer (990R I think). I am replacing the old plastic fuel lines into the tank but noticed that they are a little loose too. Any...

There is a little white ring that goes over the line and into the opening on the tank. This is what seals the line so the gas won't leak out. They are about $1.00 at any small engine service shop.
