I have the same problem.... It's not the element gents, please read the question again... the oven heats up on the other settings it's just when you select fan oven (the most popular) I too have tried replacing the selector switch with no luck. Really need a wiring diagram.
If it is a fan assisted oven, and the fan is working, then it is likely to be a faulty heating element.
This should be located behind a removeable cover at the rear of the oven compartment.
If the fan is not working as well, then could be a faulty thermostat, even without the element or fan not working, there should be an indicator light on to show that the power is on,
Also make sure the main oven is set for manual operation, and not set on auto, as this will prevent the main oven coming on if it is.
You to check the element with a meter to ensure if you are getting a sapply to it, if you are, then the new element is faulty, if no supply, then probably ythe thermostat is faulty, also check for broken or bad conn ections.
When you turn the main oven on, does the oven fan switch on?
When you turn the main oven on does the cooling fan come on?
Does the dial illuminate when the oven is turned on?
Does the oven thermostat neon come on the the oven is switched on?
Have you had a power failure recently and have not set the clock?
Are you sure that the clock/timer is NOT set and in manual mode?
You need to replace a faulty main oven element.
This is done by removing the rear cover in the main oven,
there you will see the element, disconnect and replace.
It is not a difficult job , and is not too expensive.
Plz frate my solution.
THANKS.
1. Faulty thermostat. 2. Faulty thermal cut out switch. (controls power to cooling fan). 3. Faulty cooling fan (not fan inside oven).
Test thermostat by setting thermostat to low temperature like 60 oC. If oven gets much hotter then its a faulty thermostat. To test cooling fan and thermal switch take oven out and remove top or rear panels to expose components. When oven gets hot the cooling fan should turn on. If it doesn't then check to see if there is a mains voltage present. If mains current exist but fan is not turning then replace fan. If mains voltage is not present then its the thermal switch.
If everything on your B1691N0GB oven seems to be working, i.e. all the lights are on and fan comes on in fan oven setting, but there is no heat from fan oven, conventional oven or grill, try turning your oven off at the mains, then turn on again. If the temperature display then shows 444, your oven is locked. To unlock, make sure the central control knob is in the "out" position, then press the fan oven and light buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds or so, until 333 appears on the display. Your oven is now unlocked.
put test bulb on the two wires going to fan heating element, that will tell all,if bulb lights, its the fan element that needs to be replaced!good luck!!
Hi, I was cooking and my oven jut went off, looked in fuse mains box and had tripped. So put back on and now the fan works but no heat...Can you give me some idea what it mite be.
