Do you have change a Samsung L730 battery and to see if it can be charged? If you charge the battery in camera. It seems something wrong with the build-in charger core. If the camera all are OK beside charge battery, you can charge your Samsung L730 battery with a battery charger, and if your Li-ion battery is over discharged for a long time, it's bad for it. As your camera has been used for 2 years and it maybe not in warranty. To change build-in charger core should be expensive.
I had the same problem - and wondered if if might be that the battery didn't have enough 'grunt' to close the lense - so I am charging it via the actual charger (rather than through the computer) and sure enough, I turned it on and then off, and the lense closed. The green light comes on when I plug the camera into the computer to download photos, and I thought this was therefore charging the battery, but maybe it doesn't charge it properly. Anyway, my lense is now closed and the battery is still charging (light is still red). Good luck.
Just fixed mine, if the lens is out that's the problem we had, it was jammed and not allowing it to switch on, we gently pushed it back in, then switched on, the lens came out a bit then jammed, pushed it in again & kept doing it until it cleared the blockage. Works fine now! Hope it works for yo
open the battery door and push on the wafer beside the battery gently it will release and pop uot some then grab it and pull it out
it has a spring trigger the pushes it out for you
Does your battery work with regular AA alkaline batteries ? They have higher voltage than NiMH rechargeable. I'm having a similar problem, just discovered today that my camera works fine with AA alkaline batteries.
