My appologies, this is my first day on this site. I was answering for a Oasis machine and the profile is now coming up Kenmore top loader. For the Kenmore top loader, there are 3 styles. 1 - The most common is as you look at the back of the console (where all of the knobs and dials are) there are 2 phillips screws where the console meets the top of the washer. If these screws are not present.... 2- check to see if there are two plastic pieces on either end of the console. Remove the plastic covers and there will be phillips screws underneath them. If neither is present.... 3- use a putty knife where the console meets the top of the washer and press. Once you have the screws/ clips removed pull the console towards you and rotate it up. You will now see two brass clips under the console. Place a large screw driver and press down where the clip dips inside the washer while pushing forward on the screw driver. Once these clips are out, the top, front and both sides will all tilt forward and can be set to the side as one unit. Now you can access everything underneath the top of the washer.

Did you set the back feet before leveling? On most units to set and lock the back feet you need to pull the top towards you so that the back is raised off the floor, then set it down again, this will release the feet and lock then down. The you level the two front feet. After this is done you must make sure your load is balanced. Distribute the items as evenly as you can in the tub. Once it gets to the spin cycle if its walking or shaking a lot, stop it and redistribute the items more evenly in the tub. Also try not to overload the unit or combining many heavy items with few light ones. If this is a new machine, did you remove the shipping locks from the back before using it? They have plastic strips attached to them, make sure they have all been removed, as well as any shipping bolts.
Below are tools and instruction need to solve the problem.
If your washing machine begins making strange noises such asrumbling, banging or screeching, it is time to troubleshoot the problem and fixthe machine. A noisy washing machine that's ignored can become expensive lateras the problem worsens and leads to damage of more expensive parts.
1 Inspect inside the basket for loose items. Objects such as coins, pens andpaperclips can fall out of pockets and become lodged in the basket. Run themachine again to test for any further noise.
2 Remove the top panel bysliding a flat-head screwdriver under the panel and releasing the clips. Slidethe top off of the machine and shine a flashlight into the sides of the basketto check for loose items. Remove any items and run the machine again.
3 Place a level on top of themachine and verify that it is completely level. If the machine is at alluneven, adjust the bottom feet by turning them to the right or left. On mostmachines a turn to the right will raise the machine and a turn to the left willlower it. If the machine is level or still making noise after adjustments, continue trouble shooting.
4 Replace the drum bearings.Review your owner's manual to locate the drum bearings. Unplug the machine andturn off the water supply. Remove all necessary panels with a screwdriver.Remove the driver belt and manually spin the drum. If it makes a rumblingnoise, then unscrew the drum bearings and replace them.
5 Replace the drive belt as well if it isworn, cracked or loose. This will prevent the need to re-open the washingmachine if the noise continues after replacing the drum bearings.
6 Re-assemble the machine and run it again. If it isstill making noise, contact a repairman for a consultation.

If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check
these: No
powerLid
switchNo powerCheck to see whether power is getting to the
washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit
breaker tripped?Lid switchIf the lid switch is defective, your washer can't
spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing
machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or
open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's
defective, you need to replace it. Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near
the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit
won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.
Unplug the dryer.
Open the door.
Remove the 4 visible screws.
Raise the hinge side of the door and remove the door,
The front panel will pull out.
Remove 2 screws on the top right and left of the cabinet just under the top panel.
Raise the top.
You will also have to remove the front drum support. 2 screws right and 2 screws left.
Remove the 4 dispenser area screws. Depress side dispenser tabs to drop dispenser assembly from the top lid .Insert an opener or flat item into top lid and front panel space to depress inward the metal lid top hold down clip.Do left side first then right.Raise the lid and look down behind lock mechanism.Or tilt washer and look underneath. It's an open area below?
When you "pull" on the front of the top it won't come off.
