Hi, I own a Siemens Gigaset 4000 phone and two other phones Gigaset 4200, one is the base and the other one is a handset. Recently, there was a storm, since then 2 out of 3 phones don't work. The Gigaset 4200 handset flashes Base 1 and the Gigaset 4000 who before was the base says that the line is busy. Before, the handset 4200 was with the Gigaset 4000 who was the base. Now, the only one whor works is the Gigaset 4200 base. Can you help me?
If you had a storm, and the only handset that works shows line in use, then your base has gone bad and needs repair. The reason the phones are flashing base 1 or something to that effect is because they don't see the base anymore, which typically means no phones will see your base, so its odd that one phone is actually seeing the base. Either way, you can try re-registering the phones to the base, but if you get the line in use after they register (if they will register), then your base is bad. If they won't register, your base is bad. For additional assistance you can go to www.cordlessrepair.com
