This a factory issue and usually requires service. Most cases it is a bad power supply caused by a surge or powering off and on too fast ... sorry I wish I had better news

I'm struggling with a similar problem with our 16-year-old Pioneer PROFHD1 Elite Plasma Monitor. I've read that it's not uncommon to find bulged or leaking electrolytic (can) capacitors on the power supply board that can cause that. I did replace one, very slightly bulging cap. with no luck. Someone recommended using a hair dryer to spot-heat portions of the power board, and quickly trying to power-up. I have not tried that yet. Remember to secure the "Trip Switch" if you plan to power up with the back cover off. It goes without saying that you have to be very careful of high voltage circuits on any plasma TV.

Power went out and after it came back on I experienced the same issue. I have not been able to figure out what the problem may be. My elite plasma still won't power on.
