When a DVD-ram disc put on,it's either say cannot record or play because it's not formated(it's formated and have been recorded played for a long time)or say no disc.

Sometime I keep on removing and put it back,or use a disc cleaner to run it,it will play or record. But again it will happen agin the next time around.
The same DVD-ram I use are recorded from TV shows. The same dvd-ram with the same recorded shows can have been played many times before.and next hour or day it is not formated again and cannot play or no disc!It cannot be an unsupported formate.

It may be a unsupported format on your dvd player, you could try upgradeing the firmware on your dvd player/burner, or try another dvd drive.

Cant get pre-recorded disc's to play in my recorder it comes up with the message "this disc will neither play or record" any ideas?

hello,

the reason the recorder comes up with the message "this disc wont play or record" simply is that the format of the disc is not compatible with the player.

1. check the format of the recorded disc,
2. and check the formats the recorder can play to confirm this.

take care

How to record dvd in ordinary format?

I will presume it plays back fine on your dvd recorder.
In this case, you need to "finalize disc" for it to be playable on other dvd players.

Also, possibly, If you are using a dvd-ram disc, you must make sure that the dvd-player you are trying to use even supports dvd-ram. Most will NOT.

Also, Make sure you are not recording in VR mode. Only some very new dvd-players will support VR mode discs.

PANASONIC DVD RAM DISC RECORDING

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my knowledge the only basic requirement to play a recorded disc into another machine (even of the same brand) is that the disc must be finalized. The recorder must be instructed that no further recording is intended and that the recorded disc wold be in use externally (some other standalone player).

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Why won't the DVD play on my computer? Help, please?

Put it back in the recorder you made it with and make sure it is finalized. Also make sure your DVD drive in your computer is compatable with that format.

Dvd-ram 4.7gb

DVD RAM discs don't need finalised, hence its not an available option.

They will play directly on other players -*** BUT*** ONLY DVD

RAM players.

Don't expect your RAM disc to play on a normal

DVD+/-RW DVD +/-R device. Its not going to happen unless the

device supports DVD RAM also. If it does, it will play your RAM

disc once you've finished recording in your own DVD RAM

recording unit. Pop it out of your unit, straight into the other, and

the jobs done.

Are there any DVD players/recorders that will play back both DVD-RAM and DVD-R discs?

Yes. Although at the present time most DVD players only support DVD-R playback, Hitachi’s DVRF7U will play back both DVD-RAM and DVD-R discs. In addition, there is a growing number of affordably priced DVD-RAM players that support both of these formats. These devices make it very simple and convenient to enjoy the robust capabilities of re-writeable DVD-RAM discs.
