There could be dust on lens. You could try cleaning it.

Does it appear in your pictures?

It could be in the CCD unit. It should be taken into the shop for someone to look it.

HOW TO SOLVE BLINKING BLACK SPOTS IN MY NIKON D70

I can duplicate your issue on my Nikon D810. You may have set it to display the areas that are over exposed or "clipped". Go to "Playback Menu", select "Playback display options", uncheck "Highlights".

I have a huge black spot on the LCD lens, I would

The display being spotted can be due to failure of the LCD or the CCD which is the optical sensor of the camera. So to confirm check the older picture to be seen on the display. Confirm this by checking the card on your PC. If the display is seen to be spotted, then the LCD can be faulty, fault on the linking cable or the control board.

However if the older images are seen well then the LCD is working correctly and the fault can be failure of the CCD- charge coupled device in the camera. If you have accidently exposed the camera directly to high intensity light / sunlight, then it is possible that it is damaged. Remove the battery and keep the camera aside to reset and try as a last resort. Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

Blue diust specs constellation like!

If you are seeing the "spots" when a black screen is projected, the problem is likely to be scattering caused by dust on the lens. If you can get at both ends of the lens assembly, clean both sides using lens tissue. If the spots are seen at all times, there may be damage to one or more of the LCD panels.

Please update this with your results of the cleaning.

Thanks,
Dan

Black spot on pictures, and lcd viewing

Hey cj17,
Since this spot is both on your lcd and your pictures the lcd is most likely not to blame. This spot is probably caused either by dirt on the lens or the sensor, or it could be caused by a dead pixels on the sensor. You can try cleaning the lens, and if this doesn't work you should have it looked at by an authorized service technician.

Sincerely,
Allan

Lens cap test...

Switch on camera into Shutter mode. Put lenscap over lens or block it so you get a black LCD. Have a look at that first. Only a general indication but if there ARE any bad pixels on the LCD they will be visible as coloured dots. Not too important as THAT doesn't affect the pic but personally I would not put up with it - took one back for exchange for that reason .. who wants to look at spots. The CCD is the real one to look for. With lens still blanked off to a black screen set the shutter at 2 secs, take a pic then set at 4 secs, take another pic. You won't see much on the LCD so you should download those tests to your editior - Paintshop Pro, Photoshop or whatever. THEN you get a much bigger pic (black) to look at. You'll probably find at least one or two little spots, almost inevitable with many, but you should NOT get many and also very noticeably bad spots. If so , complain and exchange.
