It is indication you have a failed ic. replace the 2 main ic components on the D-board. r two ic's with ic-8002 ic 6501 both are mcz3001D IC's they cost 5.50 each. Have a proffesional that can do soldering to the board and your fine. If not take it to a technician to replace the IC's on the dboard that are faulty.
IC 5004 is faulty on the D board and has caused loss of vertical deflection which is Sony part # 8-759-696-71 the actual IC part number is STV9379A and you should be able to get one at the following link.

This indicates that there is a problem with the backlight of the LCD-panel. Most of the time the inverter unit is defective.
In rare cases, the backlight is not switched on due to a problem on the BDT-board.
Ok sounds like you need a technician to look at it due to a transformer failure. Keep me posted
Thanks,
Lee
Also are you sure it is blinking 4 times. Could it be 3 times?
Thanks,
Lee
I would advise not soldering it yourself though and having a certified technician. Knowing what the parts cost the job will not be very hard.
Thanks,
Lee
2 IC's are bad on the main board they are part MCZ3001D IC.
they are 5.50 each.
sorry I meant they are on the D board.
In any case a Sony authorized repair center would be the best place to bring it to. As replacing any and all of these IC's may not correct your problem.
I hope that you will find this helpful,
Lee
I believe your problem has been solved to the best of anyone's ability. If my solution was helpful I would greatly appreciate that you accept and rate accordingly. If I don't hear from you I will assume that you are more then satisfied.
Thanks,
Lee
Still hoping to hear back if you needed anything else. If you get a spare moment and could accept and rate my solution accordingly it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lee

SOURCE: TV doesn't turn on, standby light flashes 4 times
4 flashes mean the IC5004 (STV9379)on D-Board went bad and the 15V supply is no longer steady. The IC
is rather easy to find and inexpensive (around $2.50). Your main
problem will be desoldering the old one and soldering the new one. CAUTION! - Heat sink on IC5004 is -15V. Care must be taken not to allow heat sink to touch any other components
Good Luck.
Hi,
The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV.
The self-diagnostic function of the projection TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue. As per the two examples below, some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
If the STANDBY light flashes three times in sequence, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
If the STANDBY light flashes four times in sequence, the TV may be overheating. To resolve this issue, ensure that the back of the TV is well ventilated.
If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.
Thanks for using Fixya.
