Freezer fan stays on constantly. temps ok in both sides. will this cost much more electricity and should i really worry about it.

If the freezer fan is running constantly, and things aren't too cold in either section, it means the frig thinks its not cold enough to shut off, so it runs trying to get to the proper temp. you have control set at. Check for any frost buildup on freezers back panel inside freezer. If there is you have a defrost problem.

Everything in the freezer defrosted because i left the freezer door open for about 8 hours how long will it take to refreeze i feel the cold air blowing inside the freezer. its been 4hours already

Hello there:

If every thing has been defrosted it should take about 6 to 8 hrs to fully freeze again now that is also depending on how you have the freezer temp set i would set the temp so that it gets the coldest that it can than after the food has frozen than reset it back to you setting that you had before ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards mike

GE TFX26KRDA WW 2001 side by side refrig/freezer w warm fridge

Cleaned the condenser coils which were dusty but not severely so. Checked the evaporator coils which were NOT iced. Reset the fridge to coldest setting and freezer to #5 (mid range of temperature) and waited a full 36 hours. Fridge temp is 40 F and freezer is about 0F. Not sure what is different except coldest setting on fridge. Warm weather is here but not warm enough to require AC. Temps in late afternoon in house about 77-80F. Any thoughts are appreciated because I suspect this problem is not completely resolved.

Refrigerator side temp keeps dropping below freezing.

Set the freezer temp control to MAX cold and see if it improves.
If not replace the off/on thermostat.(cold control)

Freezer -5 Fridge 50

You have a defrost problem. Refrigerator gets cold via freezer. If blocked with frost, will restrict cold air into refrigerator.

Refrigerator in garage

Yes it is very possible that exactly what you are describing can be happening. Also try a thermometer frozen in a cup of water to get more accurate temps. Also 33 in the fridge is very normal for the cold control set on max and the heater installed. Let me know the temps in the frz with the thermometer sensing product temp not air temp which fluctuates often.
