I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer. It fills and agitates but it will not drain or spin. When it hits the spin cycle it sounds like a timer is going off but nothing happens. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of for this is a worn coupling for the motor. Does the noise sound simmilar to a grinding sound? if thee is no noise from the motor then I would suspect the timer. I have had both of these go out on me and they seem to be common problems. I hop this helps.

Whirlpool top load washer no low-speed agitation. The unit fills, starts the wash cycle with normal agitation, but after a few minutes it just sits there soaking until the it's time to drain/spin. Drains...

Either the wire going to motor for non working speed is loose or damaged, or motor is bad. It could also possibly be timer not sending power to motor for that speed.

Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.

Stops in the middle of wash cycle

Hi!

If the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Ultimate II is refusing to go into agtation/wash cycle

It sounds like a bad timer unit, and possibly a lid switch.

As far as the water overfilling, that may be an unrelated problem, such as the water level switch... but most likely the timer.

I have the same model, and it wouldn't drain.. and it would try to spin when full of water... an interesting sight to see!

Whirlpool ultimate care II stops during cycle

THe most likely cause for this is either the lid switch or the timer itself sticking.
