Panasonic DVD-LS855 wont play to LCD TV

One of two situations: Plugged in headsets connect to contacts inside of the female port on the player. If any of the internal connections within the female port are shorted the player switching component will not disconnect and thus the player speakers will not function. Could be dirt, metal particles from the surface of the head phone pins, or just a defective female jack. You may try to insert a small round probe (like a tooth pic etc.) saturated with rubbing alcohol and twirl the probe around to collect any deposits off of the integral connectors. Be careful Not to break the probe off inside of the port. If after this attempt the same problems exist; only a qualified technician can observe the interior of the player for electrical disfunction.

Check to make sure the wires are making a good connection and restart the system.

You could always try to replace the screen by trying to find one on eBay or some other used market that is broken, but has a good screen. Then simply swap screens.

This is a universal cable. You may have received one with your portable DVD player. You can find them for cheap at thrift stores.

You need a four pin minijack (3.5mm) to 3 RCA.

Now u put in a DVD movie disc into the DVD player slot.The DVD disc still register on the tv LCD screen,but just don't read the DVD disc?Yes.Tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy a DVD cleaning disc kit to used to clean the DVD laser eye of the DVD player slot,after this it should work.If tv still have the same result,than this tv problems DVD player slot can't be fix or worth fixing because the DVD player slot laser eye is bad or dead alredy.

Ours had a problem like that. The digibox and the dvd player (anything plugged in with a SCART lead) only played in black and white but the tv menu screen was in colour.
Also anything plugged in with those three little thingies, the red/yellow/white thingies, played in colour so we just bought a converter between SCART and the three thingies.
Sorry for how useless this was, I'm not great with all the technical language. Hope it helped in some way.

I dont have a Solution but I have the same problem with my RCA portable dvd DRC6309. I have connected it to three different tv set and I get no Video but I do get Sound through the tv sets... I have sent an e-mail to RCA costemer support hoping for a solution. If I hear anything back I will post it here...

I bought my RCA DRC6309 about a month or two ago at a Wal-mart supercenter. They no longer sell RCA portable dvd players. That is why I contacted RCA directly.

Connect the phone jack sized end of the wire to the portable DVD player and then connect the 3 RCA's to your tv in the color coded spots. Yellow for Video, Red and White for Sound.

Do you want a changellage? Do you know how to solder? With a pencil thin soldering gun ? open the equipment(dvd) and carefully look for a cracked board. If anything, RESOLDER every large 'bump' of solder on the circuit board. they are usually ground or return paths for electricity and the "DROP" could have loosen the solder connection.
