My 2yr old beko frost free fridge freezer defrosted suddenly. I heard it making gurgling noises the night before, and in the morning all the food was defrosted.
The fan inside the freezer compartment is still running, but the temp is not cold, but its still gurgling. we moved house about 7mths ago and the freezer was not stored upright during transportation, could it be the coolant has leaked??

Three things could be the problem. Most likely would be the defrost thermostat which clips onto the evaporator behind the panel in the freezer. 2nd would be the timer or control board (will have one or the other). 3rd would be a bad defrost heater. Alot of times the def. therm. will show obvious sign of being bad by the cap on top popped open. You can check resistance on the heater. Any resistance at all on the heater means it is good. If it has a standard timer turn it clockwise until it clicks. This is putting it into defrost. If the heater comes on the timer is bad. If it has a control board you would unplug the unit then unplug the power supply to the board and jump line 1 to the wire going to the heater. While unplugged from the board and jumped, plug the freezer back in. If the heater comes on then the board is bad. If you are not sure how to test replace the def. thermostat, which is the cheapest part and see what happens. Note: When conducting the test for the timer or board the def. therm. must be freezing so don't defrost first! Hope this helps.

check your door seal, by closing the door on a strip of newspaper all round the seal. this fault is usually air getting inside the freezer, it rises to the top making thick ice or snow.
SOURCE: My upright freezer won't self defrost. Frost builds up right awa
Probably (90% of the times) the defrost timer is bad and has to be replaced.

if the freezer is in a cold place (below operating temp of freezer)the fan housing is the first to freeze.solution is move it to a warmer room.a common fault with freezers in garages.....

Check the vents in the fridge side and close a little if you can. On the freezer side just for good measure>>>>
Is your circulating fan working?
Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed
and PLEASE give a Thumbs Up for the effort. The Raz Shack
Check the water valve on the back of the refrigerator if it has an ice maker. Make sure the valve is turned completely on and not constricting the flow of water to the refrigerator via the water supply line. You might also hear a simultaneous buzzing sound when the gurgling noise occurs. In some refrigerator models, this filling process is on a timer, and you might hear the buzzing and/or gurgling every 15 minutes or so.
Check the water supply line for leaks or damage. You might see a puddle of liquid on the floor. If air is pulled into the water line as the refrigerator is pulling in water, that can create a gurgling noise. Replace the damaged hose yourself, or contact an appliance repair technician for assistance
Wait while the refrigerator completes its defrosting cycle if you hear water dripping and gurgling in the freezer area. When the heating coil turns on, the melted water from the frost flows down to a drain pan for evaporation to take place. The defrost process usually takes about 30 minutes. This is automatic and cannot be prevented in most refrigerators. Keep the closed to try to prevent unnecessary frost buildup.
Wait while the water equalizes in the refrigerator if you hear a gurgling sound when shutting the door. This is normal and is a result of air being forced through the drain tube. The gurgling can last several seconds but should eventually dissipate this usually happens with old fridges upgrade its a good investment
