Hi, I have a Canon i4600 printer. I have not used it for awhile but am now consistently getting parallel white lines 2mm wide across an a4 B&W photo print. Any ideas Thanks

Could be just dirty scan glass.Maybe the drum unit,transfer roller or fixing film

The print head is locked

feed a piece of paper through the back and manually turn the white roller until the paper is 3/4 through. Turn the printer on and the printer should take the paper and run it the rest of the way through.

Try selecting LANDSCAPE as opposed to PORTRAIT by using the proper print menu in your application rather than the simple print icon from most tool-bars.

You can usually find it in the FILE menus

try to change the color ink. horizontal banding (the pink or other color lines appearing means horizontal banding) when there is a problem on one of the heating element of the printer head. since almost all canon printers have head built in the inks, replacing the faulty ink will solve the problem. if not then the controller of printhead on the carriage and mainboard needs to be checked.

It sounds like your Cyan imaging unit has gone down.
Have you thought of changing the orientation of your paper from A4 protrait to A4 landscape. If the blue line is at the bottom, changing the orientation should hide the problem. It's not going to fix it, and if you use A3 then you will see the line again. It's just an idea and you could save yourself £250 on a new unit.

Hello sir; There have a cleaning unit on the transfer belt, replace the cleaning unit should take care the problem.

Check your print settings and run an allignment check.
