From the sounds of it, you will very likely need to have your TV repaired. Just to be on the safe side, before hauling it off make sure to read the user manual thoroughly:

what is the solution ?

try cycling the power (unplug 2 minutes) and plug in and wait 30 seconds and turn back on. if this doesn't work, could have been a surge, your protector should have saved it, but could have been through cable or something. surge protectors will guarantee no damage for several years, check with the manufacturer maybe they'll cover the repair.

You can check if it is the remote itself by using a digital camera or cell phone camera. Point the remote control towards the lens of the camera like you are taking a picture of what is being transmitted. Start pressing buttons on the remote, if you see a blinking light on the LCD screen of the camera, then the remote is transmitting correctly. If not, replace the batteries in the remote. If this does not fix it, you need a new remote.
If the Remote is transmitting properly, then it is either the IR sensor inside the TV or the main board. There is no easy way to check this without taking the TV apart. This can only be checked by the verifying the voltages along the line, you would need a technician to work on it unless if you have a voltmeter, the service manual and an basic understanding of how circuits work.
SOURCE: Need to program my synergy v time warner remote to
STEP 1: PRESS THE MODE BUTTON ON THE TOP OF THE REMOTE, THEN PRESS TV STEP 2: PRESS AND HOLD THE "SEL" BUTTON AND THESH "MUTE" BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME UNTIL THE BUTTONS ON THE TOP ARE LIGHTING UP IN SEQUENCE FROM RIGHT TO LEFT STEP 3: HOLD THE CHANNEL UP BUTTON UNTIL YOUR TV TURNS OFF. WHEN THE TV TURNS OFF HOLD THE CHANNEL DOWN BUTTON UNTIL YOUR TV IS BACK ON AND ALL LIGHTS ON TOP FLASH AT THE SAME TIME
Power off the television. Wait a few minutes, then power it back on. If this does not correct the issue leave the power on, point your remote control towards the Sony television and hold the down arrow button. While holding the down arrow button press the "Power" button. Release the down arrow button and the Sony TV will reset itself to factory settings. Once the television performs a scan on itself your problem should be gone.
