The ge wcxr1070t uses a coupling under the agitator . There is a cap on the top pop it off and remove the screw if you see one , otherwise just pull up , the coupling is under the agitator check to see if it is stripped . dr fixit in the repair service directory will have it if bad

Tell me more Is there voltage to motor? The transmission makes it agitate .

The washing machine is probably not at fault for this. If it really were to have a problem of drawing excessive power, it would trip a breaker, and you didn't indicate any such problem. You probably should consult with a qualified electrician to find the problem with your electric service or house wiring.

use a belt to put under the agitator to decompress the clips on the bottom of the agitator. Pull up at the same time you decompress the clips.....carful not to knock yourself in the chin
