Usually theres a dirty sensor. Remove the drum and toner hopper then give it a blow with a blower. If you know how to remove the fusing unit, you will find two sensors on it, clean them. Otherwise it's the paper feed clutch.
Check all the paper movement from the tray, left or right cover, front cover, if so then remove jammed paper. Otherwise the paper sensor spring guide missing or fell off from its original position. Check carefully where the sensor locate. paper sensors detect all the paper movement in the machine during copying or printing, so locate the place in the machine which the paper usually jammed, see the screen of the machine, it will locate the place where the paper jammed mostly. Sensor not return to it original position that is why ( remove paper jam keeps blinking)

Depending on the type of machine, it is probably just dirty rollers that pick up your paper (slipping). If you remove the tray, and look inside you should see some rollers (usually gray) that take the paper from the tray. Use a cloth dampened with some alcohol(if you have it) or simply water to clean these rollers (gently).. dry if you have used water, the top sheet or 2 of previously used paper, and try it.
When trying to use your Brother machine you get the message "Unable to _____". The blank may be the word Change, Print, Scan or Clean and these words may vary from model to model. This message is a general message and will appear for different reasons. It often indicates a paper jam or a mechanical issue. Complete the following to determine the possible issue. Check for foreign objects, such as a clip or ripped paper, inside the machine. Open the scanner cover by pulling up on the lower right corner of the cover. Look inside the machine and remove any foreign objects. If you see jammed paper or another item inside this area, gently pull it out and then close the scanner cover securely.
Then with the power on, pull the plug from the wall for several minutes. The plug it in and power the unit up.
