You can contact Tasco directly through their web site, tasco.com. Depending on the specific Luminova model, virtually identical models are offered by Celestron and Meade. In any event, you should be able to get the replacement yoke directly from Tasco. Give them a call at (800) 423-3537and I would think that their customer service department will be happy to help you out. Replacing the yoke is pretty easy to do.
The problem is the addition of the 80mm telescope to the assembly. The telescope is now out of balance, and places extra weight off-center as the position chages. Too great an off-balance will cause the main gears to 'jump' the worm teeth. The solution is to restore balance by adding counter weights as needed. Loosten the axis locks (carefully) and see which direction it wants to move. To balance my LX, I used a small bag with lead buckshot to determine how much weight was needed and where to achieve balance. Then I added fixed weights to the mount. Once this is done, the scope should track correctly.scopestuff.com has balance kits at reasonable prices.
Why not simply take the tube off and store that in a bag, and then store the mount inside or in the garage. Next time it will be easy to take it outside in two pieces.
My son got his Vivitar telescope for his birthday and his little brother accidentally broke the black thing that holds the tripod together.
