IBM Wheelwriter 3 will not type

Please help me troubleshoot the problem with my IBM Wheelwriter 3 typewriter. Out of the blue it began to type letters lightly, then it does not print at all now. Tried to use the can of air to blow out dust, put in new ribbon, but the striker doesn't seem to hit the ribbon or paper. What do you think happened.
Thanks, Jo Ann

Probably the plastic cap on the print soleniod is broken. They are available from us for 15.00 but a little tricky to install.

Oh, bad news. Indicates a confused main board. Only thing I can suggest is to unplug it from the power and let it sit over night, plug it pack in and try it again. Is it is still confused it needs to go into a repair center.

Good luck!
