I just replaced the ink cartridges in my HP PSC 2355 (which I have not used in over a year). "deriv clear" appears in the window and the power light blinks. My computer recognizes the printer and documents are sent to the que but they will not print. I have performed the reset technique but nothing happens. I cannot find out what this means or how to correct it. HP support just tells me to buy a new one. Go figure!!! I have only printed 5-10 items on this printer since I have had it so it's nowhere close to being worn out.
Try to print a test page from the printer
Sounds like your Windows OS's Control Panel has your printer listed as "Offline." This can sometimes happen while you are doing maintenance on your printer, like resetting it, as you posted above. So, what you have to do is launch your Window OS's "Control Panel," then click on the "Printers" icon. This is sometimes listed as "Printers And Scanners," but it's dependent on your Windows OS's version. Once in your "Printers" menu, you should see your printer listed. Simply right-click on your printer and select "Use Printer Online." This should fix your problem. You may find that you have to do this regularly if you do a lot of maintenance on your printer. The reason why this happens in the first place is because when you are doing maintance at the printer, your computer's USB plug and play feature can't detect it, so your OS assumes that it's not working or offline and it labels it as such. So it has to do with the USB plug and play feature on your computer's motherboard.

The Printer doesn't work. It's reported Wrong Color Ink cartrige. Following the instruction from the HP web side, i've not made a single step forward.
