Im trying to make a playstation network account for ps3 and the error code 80023017 keeps popping up. What can i do to fix this?

Greetings Dillion2763

Unfortunately, this error code is the after effect of Ps3 Firmware Upgrade 3.50. The only thing you can do at this point is either wait for Sony to release a patch, or restore your ps3 to factory settings.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for using FixYa! =)

Since the last update on sept 21 i cant sign in to the playstation network and get error codes of 80710102 and 80023017.it was working fine til the update

There has been a problem with the latest Sony update, it unfortunately is causing people to be unable to log into thier Playstation Network accounts. Sony are working on a fix and will hopefully have it sorted very soon.

Hope this helps

Its happened to me too.... I tried to sign in and then went to "forgot password" button and come up with 80023017 i read stuff online on the playstation forums but that was from 2007-2008 about it being...

Error 80023017 is (as far as I can tell) a maintenance issue. So my guess is that we will have to wait for Sony to patch this with another update. Until then, you cant get online.. It's because you updated to version 3.50.

I got this 80023017 error when trying to log in to account management on my ps3, also got a message from playstation store that it wasn't available in my region

the error message 80023017 is the one they throw up when Sony is preforming maintenance on something that is PSN related. It happened a couple of months ago too when they were redesigning the Playstation Store.
