Vizio tv says no signal on any of the hdmi ports

Unfortunately, you fried the HDMI controller. Not necessarily part of the power supply "main board." (Not sure which board is the HDMI controller in your specific TV. It's usually a separate board by itself). Easiest workaround is to use the "Component" cable connectors. The downside is you only get 720P. However, most cable/satellite and _all_ antenna signals are only 720P anyway. Most people only see 1080P when viewing Blu-Ray discs. Aside from replacing the HDMI controller, the cheapest workaround for multiple source connections is to buy an HDMI to Component Converter A/V box, which allows you to connect multiple devices to one box with one set of Component cables connecting to the TV. Then select various "sources" via the box.

My vizio is blinking back and forth from the blue no signal screen to the actual hdmi input screen which is connected to a cable box. What is going on?

Have you tried a different HDMI input? (If available.) You may be able to test the cable box of PS4 using component cables to confirm that all but the HDMI is not working. You may try pushing or holding the HDMI cables to see if you can make the problem better or worse to identify a possible flakey HDMI socket.

How do I hook up Xbox 360 to the HDTV

Step 1:

Connect the audio/video input of the component cable into the "A/V" port located on the back of the xbox 360

Step 2:

Match the red, blue and green cables on the other end of the component cable to the corresponding component ports on your HDTV. If your HDTV has more than one set of component inputs, make note of which one you use.

Step 3:

Slide the switch on the component cable to "HDTV."

Step 4:

Turn on your HDTV. Set the video mode to the component port that will be used. HDTVs with multiple component ports will usually be labeled "Component 1," "Component 2" and so on

Step 5:

Turn on the Xbox 360. Go to "My Xbox." Select "System Settings" then "Console Settings" then "Display" and then "HDTV Settings." Choose the display setting (720p, 1080i and 1080p) that is best compatible with your HDTV. If you're not sure, try them all until you find the one that looks best.

Step 6:

Disconnect any previously connected A/V or component cables.

Step 7:

Connect the HDMI AV cable connector to the "HDMI AV" port on the Xbox 360.

Step 8:

Connect the other end to an available HDMI port on your HDTV. If your HDTV has more than one HDMI input, make note of which one you use.

Step 9:

Turn on your HDTV. Set the video mode to the HDMI port that will be used. HDTVs with multiple component ports will usually label them "HDMI 1," "HDMI 2" and so on.

Step 10:

Turn on the Xbox 360. Go to "My Xbox." Select "System Settings" then "Console Settings" then "Display" and then "HDTV Settings." Pick the display setting (720p, 1080i and 1080p) that looks best on your HDTV.

Sound but no picture

How is the TV connected? Is it using an HDMI cable or component? If it is an HDMI cable then you should try plugging it into another HDMI port. If it is Component then make sure that the color coded cables are the same on both ends and that they are attached correctly.
It is also possible that your TV is connected through a sound system in which case check the input on the TV and you should be able to fix it.

I have just brought a rx-v367 av reciever and have connected it to my tv/ speakers. speakers work fine when testing set up. however there is no sound coming out when connected to tv. also it keeps coming...

Hi, Yamaha audio-video receivers are equipped with a variety of connecting jacks for hooking up different types of electronic equipment. Component AV cables are typically used for hooking up the receiver to a cable TV box. Component cables can also be used to connect the Yamaha receiver to an HDTV, although a High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) cable offers a simpler connection if the receiver is equipped with HDMI (all HDTV sets are equipped with the distinctive, six-sided HDMI jack). The connections should take less than five minutes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

* 2 sets component AV cables
* HDMI cable

Check the back of the Yamaha receiver to determine if HDMI is available. The six-sided jack contains 19 holes set in three rows. If the receiver is equipped with an HDMI Out port, use an HDMI cable to connect to the TV by inserting the plug straight into the jack with the wider end turned upward.

Insert the red, green and blue plugs on a set of component AV cables into the Video Out jacks on the cable TV box, matching the plug colors to the jacks.

Connect the plugs on the other end to a set of Video In jacks on the back of the Yamaha receiver. Make a note of which jacks are used for the connection. Each set of jacks is labeled on the receiver.

Insert the audio plugs on the component cables into the Audio Out jacks on the cable box, using the white plug for the left channel and the red plug for the right.

Attach the plugs on the other end to the Audio In jacks on the Yamaha receiver.

Use a second set of component AV cables to connect from the AV Out jacks on the Yamaha to the AV In jacks on the HDTV only if an HDMI cable was not used.

Our 42" Vizio will not display/play sounds when

Hello

One board takes in the HDMI as well as the other signals. Sometimes part of the board breaks and that is what sounds like has happend in your case. This is a fairly common problem and most people tend to just live with it. Others sell thier tv and a few find the number of thier board to see if one is available on ebay or shopjimmy. If you are comfortable with electronics the board is not hard to replace.

Im sorry your HDMI broke....

I hope this helps

I changed my HDMI cables to get my PS3 to play

You need to set your HDMI, resolution down, on PS3 FIRST, using composite, or component hookup, to the TV FIRST, Turn OFF, but DO NOT select HDMI, leave it on, Composite, or Component, when finished setup the TV, the turn it off, leave off, Then connect up PS3, power on, NOW turn on the TV, select HDMI, Change PS3 to HDIM, now it should appear. Sometimes you have to "Reset" the TV, by tuning it on & off.
