Dude it is your playing! Just kidding... seriously though, make sure you always plug your guitar in first then plug your cord into your amp last. You should not get any pop this way, easier on gear...but. It sounds like you have the same prob that I have had in the past either 1. bad wiring at the end of your cord, usually where you plug in at the guitar. 2. loose, broken wires at your output jack on your guitar (axe). Try another cord, if same problem...pull the output jack nice and easy. see if it is loose. Look at the wires, check the solder connections. If bad ....take to a tech unless you are good with wiring. Good luck!
If the noise is a pop or click, that's normal. Any other sound could be caused by too long a cord, which will produce noise while on the floor.
If it's not the cord, then you most likely have something wrong with the wiring inside the guitar. Have a luthier (guitar builder and technician) look at it, and s/he should be able to fix the problem.
Hope that helps!

Another thing to try is take the control cavity cover off (the plastic plate behind the knobs), and check for any loose wires. Sometimes, if they contact anything other than what they're supposed to, they'll make a loop which can produce a sound similar to high gain feedback. If something is loose, just solder it to where it goes (if you're using newer EMGs, it should have solderless connections, and you'll just need a screwdriver). I just had a similar problem with my warlock, but i've got aftermarket EMG pickups that I installed about 5 years ago, so no solderless design for me.
Hope that helps!
Check the ground and connections inside. I have the same guitar except mine has dimarzios. A bad ground is usually the problem. Any other type of wiring problem would stop it from working or squeal.
