No, it doesn't need infrared headphones, but it does need to have all audio connection made properly. There is a controller that this was designed to use, model number CY-VM1500. That controller has speaker outputs on it, and the CX-DV1500 must have the RCA audio output jack (red and white rca jacks) connected to the RCA audio input jacks of the CX-DV1500

if you have found this to be helpful, a good rating would be appreciated. Let me know if you require any further help.

You can find the instruction manual at this url:

Sylvania wireless headphones

Instructions
1
Set up the transmitter. Wireless headphones rely on a transmitter that sends audio via infrared or radio waves to your headset. Use the digital audio output (coaxial or optical), RCA outputs (red and white) or headphone jack on your TV to connect the transmitter. The connection will depend upon which outputs are available on your TV and/or the transmitter.
2
Use an RCA-to-headphone adapter. If you don't have a headphone jack on your TV and the transmitter includes only a headphone connection, connect an RCA-to-female headphone connector. This will allow you to plug the wireless transmitter into the female headphone end and then hook the RCA ends into your television's audio outputs. You may also need a 3.5 mm (mini jack)-to-1/4-inch adapter if the headphone plug on the transmitter doesn't match the television jack.

3
Set the transmitter on top of, or next to, the television. For infrared transmitters, you'll need a direct path between the headphones and the transmitter. Placing the transmitter on or near the TV will allow you to take advantage of the clear path you already have.
4
Plug in the transmitter and turn it on. Charge the headphones if necessary.
5
Turn on the headphones. Adjust the volume and settings and you're ready to watch TV.

How do I connect wireless headphones to my sony kv34hs510

Are your headphones blutooth or infra-red? Is your Trinitron Blutooth or infrared enabled to allow you to listen to it thru your headphones? If so, there must be an on/off switch that would actuate the Blutooth or infrared meachanism on the Trinitron itself. Otherwise, you WON'T be able to hear sound.

How do i use my infared headphones and can i use them on my laptop

You should be able to use infrared headphones with your laptop. You don't give a brand or model, but they're all pretty much the same. The transmitter connects to an audio source (and to a power source as well, so you'll need an AC outlet nearby) with the appropriate cable, and you just put the headphone on and turn on the power. Some headphones take regular batteries, while others have a rechargeable battery like a cordless phone; those are recharged when you hang the headphones back on the transmitter.

The couple of infrared headphone systems I've used both had RCA input jacks. The headphone jack on a laptop takes a 1/8-inch mini-stereo plug, so you'll need an adapter with a regular stereo patch cord (RCA plugs at both ends) or a cable with the right plug on the computer end and RCA plugs at the other. Radio Shack sells both.

If you have questions about your headphones, you can usually find a downloadable manual at the manufacturer's website.

Both of My audiovox infrared headphone has no sound. I have changed the batteries, red light is on, and volume up. Still no sound. We can hear the sound on the car radio.

The owners manual does not say much about the infrared, however you cannot use the vehicle sound system and the infrared at the same time. When the player is in use and the raidio is off, you should see red lights (4) in the black plastic above the screen. This indicates the infrared is transmitting. if still no sound thru the phones: R&R the phones. Amazon universal infrareds.

Hello Could you tell me how to get the infrared

Hello... I am sorry to hear you are having problems. I am unsure if you bought this as a package deal with the headphones or purchased the headphones separately. If you purchased them separately, they may not be compatable. Headphones come in different frequencies. The reason for this is if you had 2 different dvd players and 1 kid was watching Spongebob and the other kid was watching Hannah Montana, they would not interfere with each other as far as sound. Some dvd players will allow you to change the output frequency of the IR (infrared) transmitter built into the dvd player. This feature would be in the menu section of your dvd player. Make sure the headphones are on properly, because if they are backwards, they may not read, because IR frequencies are "line of sight" meaning the receiver (headphones) has to see the transmitter (dvd player). You will see a tinted window that has 3 or 4 bulbs. That will be your transmitter. Make sure you have good batteries in the headphones and that you have them turned on. If you have power and have checked the IR frequency, and they were purchased aftermarket, then you may need a different set that receives the correct frequency. If this is a package deal and you have checked the batteries and they power up properly, you may have a bad IR transmitter inside the dvd player. With the info you provided I can only speculate at this point, but this gets you on a start. Let me know if I can help more! Good luck with your venture!!

Wireless Headphone not working with my portable DVD player

Firstly, make sure your DVD have built-in IR wireless module so that your headphone can receive the audio signal from your DVD player.

Second, it should be clear which frequency transmitted from your DVD player. Generally speaking, there are two frequency of IR transmitter. One is 2.3MHz/2.8MHz. another is 3.2MHz/3.87MHz. Only emission frequency same as receiver can receive the audio signal.
