I have a Kodak Easyshare P880 camera where the power intermittently cuts out and then comes back on after a second. When the power cuts out, it is accompanied by an audible click, the screen goes black, and the power light blinks off, then comes back. This happens every 30 seconds or so. Is there a fix for this? What is the cause of this problem?

Try using the Kodak CRV3 lithium battery, I will cost you, but the battery works. The z812is is to powerful for any rechargeable battery.

I shake mine and it sometimes comes on. It's like something is sticky inside it and a brisk shake loosens it. Good luck.

My camera is stuck on the screen that says "lens error" and then has four different numbers in a row. The camera lens is fully extended and will not shut off...any suggestions of what the problem could be?

What size memory card can you use on a kodak easyshare p880

The P880 can use SD cards (NON SDHC) up to 2 Gb.
It supports FAT16 filesystem, so 2 Gb is the max.
If you frequently use RAW or TIFF you might want to use the fastest you can get (150x)

Joystick on my P880 camera is not working, it has lost its tention, it just rattles about.

You can access it by removing the case. It is held in place either by melted tabs or hopefully screws. Just remount it.

My Kodak P880 has frozen and will not turn on. The Firmwire upgrade was trying to run but there was no memory card installed. After that, my camera would not turn on.

Retry the Firmware upgrade.
Format the SD card in the camera afterwards.

P880 is no longer produces therefor no repair is available due to shortage of spare parts. But a Trade up option is available.

No sound on Kodak P880 movies

The only possiblity you can use is do a Firmwareupdate. You can find it and an explanation how to do a Firmwareupdate here.

When this not help, it's an hardware problem and the microphone of the camera is defect. When you't lucky you can let repair kodak the camera. You should contact the kodak service to ask for repair costs, because this is a very good cam, you bought.

Kodak easyshare p880 camera

Try taking the battery out of the camera and clean the contacts with an eraser. Do it for the contacts inside the battery casing as well. Be sure to blow all the eraser rubbings out of the inside case and clean then off the battery contacts. Put the battery back inside the camera. With any luck, it may now work.

Turns off by itself

I have tried numerous avenues including email solutions from Kodak and possibility of reinstalling the firmware but none worked. I fully believe the problem lies in the power switch - it is no longer making proper contact when in the on position. The only way appeared to be to have it repaired by a camera repair depot preferably one that also happens to be authorized by Kodak. The repair cost estimate given to me was $70 Canadian. Unfortunately I reported the problem after the warranty period had expired and like most corporations today, Kodak absolutely refused to foot any of the bill once the warranty period is over. I have no good reasons to keep Kodak on my list when shopping for another camera. P880 was a great camera except for the unexpected switching off and Kodak has not made a replacement camera with the same degree of sophistication.

Kodak dx6440 wont power up lens wont and retract

I have the same/similar problem. I could hear the camera attempting to retract the lens. Camera shut down after timeout.

Disassembled camera & found two teeth missing from plastic gear in gearbox attached to lens motor. Don't know yet if part(s) are available.

Camera had light use. Patheticly short life & that Kodak didn't use stronger nylon gears. Bought a barely use Kodak P880 recently, & the autofocus died shortly after. Web search showed others had same failure. I'll never buy another Kodak camera.
