I'm having the same problem. My BDP-S350 Blu-Ray Player used to play blu-ray DVD's but suddenly is unable to. Regular DVD's I can play. Please help!

You can upgrade the firmware to let it supports the more Blu-ray discs. Go to the official site of your Blu-ray player and download the latest firmware of this model. Transfer to firmware to a flash drive and connect it to to your Blu-ray disc for upgrade.

Or, it may be the problem that the region codes of your Blu-ray discs and Blu-ray player don't match. Try to use Leawo Blu-ray Copy to crack all restriction from your Blu-ray copies

You can get a Blu-ray player program so that you could play Blu-ray discs on your laptop after installing a Blu-ray drive. You could try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a free program.

Ok EVERYONE. After emailing Sony Pictures, I took the second copy back to Fred Meyers put it in their active BluRay display player. I have a Sony BDP-S300 right at a year from purchase, they had a Sony BDP-S350 and my disk that did not work - played fine even past the eagle. I came home Downloaded and installed a Firmware update. Now my copy of Hancock that did not work works fine.. The simple answer is Update your Firmware

Sony BluRaywon't play back disk

That is one of the problem with manufacturers that don't clearly explain the consumers that most of the blue ray dvd player is designed to play blue ray dvds &regular dvds, but it wasn't never designed to back any DVD-R or DVD-RW.
Sorry, there is no way around it,because Sony enjoyed being exclusive in many things.
