What does the H symbol on the top upper left corner of the phone screen mean? How come it keeps switching between an H and a 3G symbol?

That means that the phone is on "Mute". Try to set a volume level other than "off". See if that works.

The G that appears on the screen just tells you that the phone is connected to a 3g network..

What that means for you is that if you try to browse the internet with the phone that you will have faster browsing speeds and faster downloads..

The opposite of the G would be a g with an X through it, which would mean that depending on your cell service provider, with the X through the G you would have to pay Data Roaming Charges.

The java symbol appears if an application/game is running in the background. press the activity key to view the running application/game and select "End" to close it.

the network is messing up....if the 3G symbol isnt in the top right hand corner then your phone isnt going to work...contact at&t...its probably just your phone...thhey will send another!!

According to the manual this symbol means "HSDPA network connected"

It means that you are receiving a 3G signal (which means your phone can send and recive information at a much quicker rate- for internet or video call for example), it has nothing to do with any buttons you have pressed. It could also display an E or an H in the same position on your display.....depending on your network or ......

IT is the sign for rss reader, it is live feeds from news and adverts, you can switch this off from the messages menu at the settings.

its the symbol for the 3g signal to turn it off go into menu then to settings, scroll across to connectivity then to mobile networks and then to gsm/3g network and select gsm only, it should then go away

The 'E' comes up when are in your home network(not roaming) and an 'R' comes up when you are roaming(logged on to a different n/w other than your providers but has tie up wit ur network provider)
