Question about Panasonic AG-HMC150 AVC Camcorder

1 Answer

Hi There. I am shooting on a class 10 Extreme 30MB/s 32 gb sandisk card. However when I change the record mode to any of the 720 options or the HA 1080 mode I get the message "can not record PH mode and HA mode on this camera." I tried formatting the card and still no luck. How do I get the 720 format to work? It is an option on the camera so it must work! Thanks

SOURCE: Panasonic PVGS-50D SD memory card

Check your manual for the max supported SD card size. Most likely it will either support a minimum of 2-4 gb :)

So yes you can get larger cards for your PV GS 50D

SOURCE: A grinding sound coming from inside the camera (PanasonicHVX200A)

If noise occured during while OIS function is on,then must lubricate the axis inside lens underneath the ccd block.Due to friction of the movement of the coil used for moving lens for optical stabilizing function makes noise, but if this is not the problem, camera board must be next suspect,so first clean and lubricate and after ask service for cost.So generally speaking ,the problem is on the lens unit ,or the camera board which drives it...

Sandisc makes cards in various speeds or "classes". For videos, it's best to use a class 6 or better card. Sounds like your new 8GB card is a class 4 or lower.

Unless the camera is actually in record mode, your previous video files should be complete on the SD card and should not be affected by removing the battery. The freezing COULD be a result of the SD card itself. Most live video recording devices which use media of this type work best with cards that are rated "Class 4" or higher. (Class refers to the read/write speed of the card; the higher the class, the faster it performs.) The class rating is usually shown inside a small circle printed on the card. A 32 GB card of Class 4 or higher is still pretty pricey, so if yours is only Class 2, the camera circuitry may be sending data to the card faster than it can handle it, thus locking it up. You might be better off with a smaller capacity card (16 or even 8 GB) that has a higher Class rating (4 or even 6). *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. Card error with 16 or 32 GB SDHC card

The solution according to JVC (and it did work), is only buy card from Sandisk. Toshiba and Panasonic.

What kind of card is best

The MPEG2 recording can be used in various quality levels, with 8.5 to 5.5 Mbps constant bit rate and 4.2 and 1.5 MBit / s with a variable bit rate recording.

The read / write speed is 20480 kb/s (SanDisk data).

It's enough!
