Hi,
There are probably a few capacitors on the power board that have defective formula and will need replacing. If you have some basic test equipment and a basic electronics background I can walk you through some troubleshooting steps. Otherwise if its still under warranty take it back, if not you can consult your local TV repair technician. CLICK HERE to find TV technicians in your area just enter your zip code.
And of course always check the basics first by making sure the wall outlet that the TV is plugged into is working. Check the ac cord, make sure its fully connected to both the wall outlet and the TV ....etc

Wharfedale LCD2710HDAF no power to tv, checked cable and changed fuse a few times, new power lead? or is this a common problem?

Hi.

The power cord must be checked using a multimeter. The test is done reading impedance (ohms) between plug's prongs and contacts to TV power board.

If the power cord is OK and there is no power, then the problem is the power board inside the TV.

Regards.

Ginko.

Mitsubishi WD-52525 was working fine and now it will not turn on

This is just a shot - but it worked with my Sony (same problem).
Pressed remote power on button AND held Power button on TV on at the same time.

Set clicked 4 or 5 times and then came on....

Other, most have a (VERY small) reset switch on the rear - near where the power cord enters the TV... Use a flashlight and a mirror to locate it on your set....

No power - have checked fuses, power leads and master switch

Well yes, there a problem in the power supply modual.
It does sound like a failing power supply , becuse of the
fact you don't get charge up spark from the plug , wich is normal
affter it's been off /unpluged for 20 min or so .

check the resistance of the plug coming from the set with a volt meter if you have 10 meg ohms or higher,
it's an open circuit and more than likely a 1.50 fuse in the power
supply. If the fuse blows instantly then it's a shorted output transistor or rectifier diode in the switching power supply.

Be a shame to pay 300.00 plus for a stupid fuse.

hope that helps a little . if you have any questions just comment
an i'll respond

try looking for a broken wire or a wireing harness shorted to ground, the fuse blowing in the harness will lead you to it if you are able to see where the wire goes. you have a short somewhere may be the fuel pump, too

Tv wont switch on

This could be a problem with the power supply. Yes there is a fuse on the power supply & if you have a multi-meter & are competent with electrical safety, you could test it. However, if it has blown then almost certainly something else will have caused it. You might have a short circuit bridge rectifier or faulty chopper transistor. If the fuse is ok, then you will need to check voltages from the power supply to find out what feeds you have. There may be a start resistor open circuit for example. If most of the start up voltages are ok, then you need to look at the line output stage & check if this circuit is getting any voltage supply.

Proform 570 blowing fuse

there are generally two control boards, I am assuming you looked at the lower one. I would first disconnect the power leads at the board and see if it still blows the circuit breaker (fuse?). If it does the check wiring for short. If OK then reconnect power leads and then disconnect all other wires (plug-ins) to the board and try again, each time plug a connection in and retry. (remember to disconnect power each time). I have a feeling the smoke got let out of this lower board and may need replacement. hope this helps

Check for the fuses inside the machine, replace only with same ratings! Make sure there's no shortcircuit at the speaker output terminals. Have it checked out by your local dealer if you are in doubt.
