This could be a problem with the tv's memory. Try resetting the TV. Unplug the unit for a few seconds (10-60). Then restore the TV to the factory default settings. Viewsonic has changed it's menus at intervals so you may have to check your manual. It may be Menu > Setup > Memory Recall or Menu > Options > Restore Default (or something slightly different). From there, click enter, use the right or left arrow to select YES, hit enter. Leave the menu system (Menu twice). Then hit Menu > Channels and rescan all channels.
An alternative cause of the problem may be a weak signal - check that your antenna is pointing right at the station and is the correct type to get the signal at the distance you are from the station. (Usually a weak signal would also have the audio breaking up but weird things can happen.)
I hope this helps.

(who recently had a channel pair that started out with flickering signal issues and then had one channel lose video and the other audio. The memory reset and rescan resolved the problem.)

You may ahve either the main logic board problem or the power supply module problem, look at the power supply first since it is easy to do without much tools needed, look at the DC filter caps fopr leaking/bulging tops (notes: cap can look OK but may have high ESR whcih you will need caps meter taht can measure ESR).
