I have inherited an almost new Hoover W.M. 500MB.
I am having problems with getting to go through a cycle. When I choose Regular Wash it sits in a stand by mode for ever. But if I turn the dial around to say Spin Dry, it goes into a final spin.
The water runs continuously straight out through the outlet, thus waisting precious water.
There is a leak from I don't know where. It flows out onto the floor.
The pump hose has to be above tub level or the water will run out
the dial control unit is faulty and if the parts are are available will cost up to $150.00 aud approx to buy
the leak under the machine could be from a tub to pump hose or water level hose up to sensor
how new is almost new as it seems you have inherited a lemon and not a working machine

water leak from cold hose nothing to do with other problem. tighten hose connection and fit a new hose washer overfilling probably because air chamber blocked. remove lid. you will see a pressurestat somewhere at the top - usually round with anything from 3 to 7 wires and a small tube underneath. follow hose down and it connects to the air chamber. make sure this is free of gung and check hose for splits and has no blockage. to check the pressure stat itself, attach your own hose to the stat and while machine in fill mode, blow down this hose and you should hear a click and water intake will stop

Your problem could be caused the interlock but it could also be that the machine is failing to drain in the time alllowed and therefore the machine will not spin, before buying a lock check the sump hose and pump area for blockages.

you need to access your drain pump and check it for an obstruction but when you pull the hose off keep in mind it might have a lot of water in it i usually use a shop vac and pull all the water out through the drain hose before removing the hose or opening the pump sorry i cant be more specific but ive never cleaned the pump on a hoover

Hi are the clothes tangled up around the agitator if so the gearbox may be faulty or the brake may be worn,is it washing in both directions

The most common cause of machines stopping mid cycle is not draining. Your machine should have a filter behind the kick plate at the bottom.
If this is not the case please post back for further assistance.
