Picture too large horizontally for screen do not know how to adjust

We recommend you press the [FORMAT] button on the TV remote to manipulate the TV's aspect control. If the screen still does not fit then your cable or satellite box is in a stretch mode.

How to Troubleshoot Vertical Lines on an LCD TV Screen

<p>There are two prevalent formats for video programming: full screen and wide screen. LCD TVs are designed to show a wide screen picture to go with high-definition (HD) programming. When standard-definition (SD) programming is watched on an LCD HDTV in its default settings mode, there will be two vertical lines on the right and left sides of the picture. You need to go into your TV settings menu to troubleshoot this issue.<br /> jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); <span><br /></span> <span>Instructions</span> <ol> <li> 1 Press the "Menu" button on your remote control and open the "Picture Settings" sub-menu.<br /> </li> <li> 2 Select "View" from the list of options.<br /> </li> <li> 3 Choose a viewing mode that will eliminate the vertical lines. Select "Zoom" to crop the on-screen image to fit the screen. Select "Wide/Widescreen" to stretch the on-screen image to fit the screen, or select "Panoramic/Panorama" to stretch the sides of the onscreen image to fit the screen (recommended).<br /> </li></ol>

How do I fix the constant flickering of the screen?

Hello,

Take the lcd assembly apart, and disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable on the back of the lcd. Also disconnect and reconnect the other end of that cable. If that doesn't fix it, disconnect and reconnect both cables that go to the inverter board (it's the small circuit board inside the lcd assembly- example in picture below). If still no good, then you probably need a new inverter board. Call HP and get a phone number for one of their parts suppliers. Inverter boards are cheap ($10-$20). Even if it doesn't fix it, it doesn't cost much to try. If still no good, then take it to a service shop.

Hope this helps!

The screen does not show the whole picture and it is cutting the top or the bottom of the picture

If the button on the television remote that is meant to adjust the picture size i.e. wide or format/view mode button is not working then you need to adjust your cable box. There is a hd zoom# button on the cable remote towards the bottom that will fix this or sometimes the button will say format or aspect. You may have to go into the cable box's settings and choose crop 1080i or some other picture format setting that will keep the heads from being chopped off. You may have your cable box on the wrong resolution for your television. Your cable box may be connected to the television in two places, and your television might be on the wrong source/input for hd viewing.

Projector Input is on DVI - Video. HDMI cable thru an adapter is plugged into DVI port. When av receiver has "TV" selected; Picture is projected. When Blu-Ray is selected; there is no picture....

The Sharp XR-30X will display 720P and 1080i. The Blu-Ray player is trying to send 1080P which requires a handshake. It sounds like you might have to go into the Blu-Ray player and tell it to use 1080i.

How do i adjust the picture to fit the screen?

The wide button on your remote adjusts the picture size. Each time you press it you adjust the picture. If repeatedly pressing the wide button is not changing the picture size check you cable/satellite remote control. Look for the hdzoom# button. There may also be an aspect or format button. When you adjust this the picture size changes and between the Sony remote and the cable/satellite remote you should be able to come to a happy medium. If the picture size still isn't changing you might not be set to the correct resolution i.e. 1080i on your cable/satellite box. It might be set too low or you might be in the wrong input (av 1 av 2 hdmi 1 hdmi 2) etc.

The whole picture doesn't fit in the screen.

If u are using a cable box there maybe a format button on that as well. So use it in conjunction with your tv format button to get a picture that fits the screen. Make sure no zoom format is selected
