Sounds like the fluorescent backlight is starting to go bad. The backlight provides the brightness needed to see the LCD picture. As older TVs age, the ballast/fluorescent tube/power supply go bad. Repair is not always cost effect. If you replace the set, get a LED backlit model and that won't happen again.
Tv has no picture or sound; will go out while watching. The picture will go into a line and sound and picture will go out; shortly after that tv will turn off. Did this last nite and I did not turn back on until this morning, it worked no problem. On for couple of hours and now it's out again. What could be problem and how do I fix myself
