Hmmmm.... Most new DVD drives have the problem.
Clean the cd with water and shampoo if it is having too much scratch. Try after drying. Is that helping?
NO? Is that CD working in other drives?
YES? Then you better replace the drive if it is under warranty.
It seems Lite-on Has a lot of Probs. In fact I had the same model on an SATA system. It would not burn dvd's or cd's.You can try updating your burning software, and reinstalling the drive through device manager.I actually ended up buying an LG burner....lo-and behold...it works without any problems.Good luck
I have two LITE-ON DVD DRW LH-18A1P on drive (E:) and drive (F:) It has gone from everything working great to not being able to burn a DVD. When placing a DVD into either (E:) or (F:) it shows up in my Window's Explorer as a CD drive.... Only allowing me to burn a CD in these drives.... Can play past burnt DVD's though in both both drives.... hve tried a couple of different brand disc, LG and TDK and get the same message appears 'to please insert a dics', need help I do!!! lcs2
