My 5 yr old 47in Panasonic Rear projection has got an attack of the alien green skin tones. This has been on going problem for the last 18 mths, but only for very short periods. Lately these have got longer (room is cooler with our winter kicking in?). I guess its a red gun problem. Funny thing it only does it on TV and never with a DVD.
Any clues out there?????
Regards
Ron Huston

Optical Block in your TV is going bad. If you don't have any extended warranty - It is pretty expensive repair and is not worth of fixing it in most cases.
Usually what I find in a case like that is that there is a loose solder joint on the CRT board of the red picture tube. When the connection is good the picture looks fine but when it lets go the picture turns that awful greenish-blue. On most sets the bottom front of the TV will disassemble to allow access to the CRT boards, and the solder joints can be resoldered quite easily. If you do not have experience resoldering boards in a projection TV then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
I have a GVA TV problem with his remote First four minutes it work properly then stop working. Batteries replaced many times still same problem. Give the solution.
try unplugging the circuit board thats connected to the green picture tube thats the board in the middle then while the boards unplugged try to power up the tv if it works it means your green picture tube is shorted
