Mine acted similarly. Hooked up a small tv cable amplifier between the aerial and unit. Pulled stations in much better. Appears the tuner isn't all that sensitive. Try an amplifier or outside antenna, otherwise unless you're near a tv station you won't get much. One of the "advantages" of going to digital tv.

I purchased this portable tv and I can't set up the channels..keeps telling me there is no signal. What am I doing wrong

    I own one of these and I hooked up rabbit ears antenna instead of the antenna it came with. this was the only way remaining portable it got many channels

Hello
[1] Insert the batteries into the Craig DVD player. Depending on the model you are using, the batteries are either rechargeable lithium-ion batteries or store-purchased AA batteries.
[2] Plug the 3.5mm cable into the headphone jack on the side of the Craig DVD player
[3] Insert the opposite end of the cable into the "Aux" connection on the car stereo. Without this audio-input option, you will be unable to hook the Craig DVD player up to your vehicle.
[4] Power on the Craig DVD player and insert the desired DVD. The video will load onto the display screen while the audio is played through the car's stereo system.

It may be that you need to supply a separate dtv converter box to tune in channels...I don't believe the dvd player has a tuner in it

How do I get the tv to work on the craig ctv 1703?
If you are having a problem you will have to be more specific as the instruction manual clearly explains how to enter, set up, and use the TV function of CRAIG CTV1703. I own it - it's not that hard to do even without a manual.

All you need is a good pair of rabbit ears. The one that has a cable type connection that will screw on the antenna.

no, s video is not required to work. if you hooked up 3 colors to the tv 3 colors. make sure it's on video 1 or aux channel. and as long the dvd player is on and that channel is on, if that does not work, try on another tv that has same connection. if that doesn't work, then we know that dvd player doesn't work.
