Is there any way of removing the route 66 and reloading tom tom?. When I connect usb cable to load orginal TomTom (reistered and paid for) the computor doesnot recognise the device. I can find the route 66 file and am able to open it so the usb connection must be alive. But all I get on the screen of the unit when connecting as per Tom Tom is a picture the devise and usb cable withan arrow showing to connect. Both route 66 and Tom Tom help desks have no idea what I'm talking about. If this not possible is there any upgrades to route 66 that map outside major city limits?.Any help or suggestions appreciated.

You need to wait until the incident number comes up with a solution i would hate to tell you something that they already know its possiable it needs to be unlocked i am wondering if you downloaded this off the internet and not paid for the map and got yourself into some trouble with a virus!

I've fixed quite a few of these units with this problem. I can diagnose for free (just return postage) and fix for a nominal fee (if fixable)
