SOURCE: no power

Not sure if this is related, but our's won't start-up either, and it seems to indicate that the batteries are weak/dead prematurely. There must be some sort of power level controller that could be the root problem. Our experts can add some useful content to both these threads....

SOURCE: kodak easyshare m853 digital camera

is the light that's coming on green or red?
if it's red, there's a charging error - contact kodak, they may provide a 5v ac adapter to resolve your charging issue

if it's green, was it blinking or solid? is the battery drained?
if the battery still has a little charge on it, please connect it to the computer then turn it on, check if there's power light
check if the screen is black - that means it's making a connection and the charging is the only issue - computer not detecting it, maybe resolved by kodak's software support

if the camera screen is active - that means there's definitely something wrong with the camera

SOURCE: kodak easyshare m853 digital camera

I too had a problem with the charging of the camera. After talking with a computer savy guy, he told me all USB ports are not equal. Many do not have the power to charge something. This goes for hubs as well as on board ports. I tried 3 computers and finally got the proper charge cycle to kick in. I am looking to get the AC adapter to bypass this problem.

SOURCE: Kodak Z812 shuts off automatically

The Z812 IS is powered by either one CRV3 or two AA Lithium disposable batteries (Kodak doesn’t support the use of Alkaline AA’s or NiMH re-chargeable AA’s). Kodak doesn’t include a re-chargeable battery and battery charger with the Z812 IS - they must be purchased separately. Z812 IS owners can opt to go with the Kodak KLIK 8000 re-chargeable Li-ion battery and purchase the Kodak K7500 or K7600 battery charger or a Kodak printer dock or the Kodak EasyShare HDTV camera dock (both of which also function as battery chargers

Camera will not turn on

I have had the same problem. Can be of two things.
1) Issue with the charging circuit. When you plug your charger on it should indicate a yellow light. If not, either your charger is not working or your charging circuit is not working. Go to the store and get them checked.
2) Issue with the battery contacts. Simply take out the battery and get a cotton bud and clean the battery contact both on the battery and inside the battery compartment.
3)Issue with the charging circuit and the internal circuitry. You will have to take it to the KoDAK store. I would recommend buying a new one.

How do i get the light to turn on ?

You don't. The flash is intended to provide a short blast of light for still images. If you want a floodlight for videos, you'll have to get a continuous light intended for video usage.

I have a camera battery question...Kodak M853.?

Hey cambameriezz,
I would make sure I purchased the correct battery, and if you did I would make sure the battery terminals in the camera are clean by cleaning them with a soft cotton swab. If none of this works I would try charging the camera using the ac adapter rather that plugging it into the computer.

Sincerely,
Allan
