Um.. I don't see an "online" or "escape" button anywhere on the printer...

Go to user tools counter. Go to settings. Go to interface. You should see the IP address settings window. Some Ricohs have auto DHCP. Usually I turn that on to get it to recognize your router. Make sure your gateway address is inserted as well.

It must be in DHCP mode. Do you want to set it to a static IP?
"user tools", "System settings", "Interface settings, "Network", "ip address", highlight "specify", then press the button below "ip add", set your ip, press "ok", then press "ok" again with "specify" highlighted to lock in. Exit user tools.
SOURCE: Ricoh 1515MF Scanning
Easier said than done...you'll probably need a tech for this one.
First..to scan to folder you require a software called "scanrouter Lite" from Ricoh, which is actually kind of hard to get a hold of these days, since it's nnot supported anymore, and then the configuration is not easy , because it is proprietary...meaning only Ricoh uses it, and it is almost impossible to configure for anyone else that has not used it.
There is however Scan to email, and for this you can open a web browser, and type it's Ip address (if you have it connected via tcp/ip port), enter "admin mode"...user name= "admin", password = "password"...then enter all network settings...IP, DNS, POP,SMTP, etc. then in "address book" enter your destination settings.
This is not a configuration that is easy for a novice either, and it is also not compatible with an email server that uses authentication for outgoing mail.
I may not have helped, b ut I hope I clarified.
