Look carefully at the adaptor and see if it takes any voltage besides 110 (it will say in very tiny print, you will need a magnifying glass). if it does NOT say 220V or 240V then you friend the adaptor. Get another adaptor - most are "dual" voltage meaning they run in the U.S. or overseas.
Also check for "polarity" (which part of your plug is + or - ).
hi, see the power rating on the power pack adapter. Unless otherwise stated, most come with an international standard of 220v. I bet you can find an adapter with the right capacity that fits your scanner if that doesn't work. Hope this helps pls rate or vote this
Yes. You can use it while abroad. This equipment do not use any external power source. It draws its power through the USB cord. which is standard 5 volts. However, other equipments, that is connected directly to AC must be working on 230V. For example, your are going on a trip. You take your lap top and this SimpleDrive Portable Hard Drive with you. You can connect the Portable Hard Drive to the laptop without worry. But you should check the power supply to the laptop whether it says 100V-240V. Then you are all set. Almost all laptop power supplies are equipped to work with both 110 and 220V range. Other wise you will have to get a travel adapter, which converts the 220V to 110V.
POWER: AC 100V-240V at 50/60 Hertz means that your unit has a switching power supply built in which will operate on ANY AC (alternating current) voltage from 100V up to 240V, on either 50 or 60 hertz frequency.
(110V @ 60 Hertz is an USA wall outlet power standard, whereas 220V @ 50 Hertz is the European wall outlet power standard)
So, you can actually use it with just about any line voltage from a standard home wall power outlet, you just need the correct power cable that fits into your unit on one side and into the wall socket on the other.
The 60W power rating is just telling you how much power the unit consumes for operation which means that if you hook it to a 110V power line (USA), it will draw a current of approximately 0,54 amperes (60 watts divided by 110 volts equals to 0,54545 amperes) and if you hook it to a 230V power line (Europe), it will draw a current of approximately 0,26 amperes (60 watts divided by 230 volts equals to 0,26086 amperes).
The switching power supply in the unit has an internal fuse which is rated somewhat above the 0,54 amperes, could be a 0,63 amperes, but most probably it is rated at about 1 ampere or more.
If the specs you listed are correct, you only need to worry about the correct power cable that will fit into your wall socket on one side and into the combo unit on the other.
Hopefully, if the unit is in good health, you haven't wasted your money after all.
europe typically uses 220v as opposed to the 110 used in the us. some tvs have a power supply you can switch back and forth, most dont. typically wouldn't work without some sort of power adapter.
it's alway suggested that you simply use plug adaptors to change shape of plugs for overseas-do not reduce voltage since most all chargers including yours support 220 or 110
Each country or region has its own electric and color systems. Before using your camcorder abroad, check the following items:
Power sources
* You can use your camcorder in any country or area with the supplied AC Power Adapter
within 100V to 240V, 50/60 Hz.
* Use a commercially available AC plug Adapter, if necessary, depending on the design
of the local wall outlet.
**Note** The United States and most of the Western hemisphere use electrical systems operating at 110-120 volts. Almost every other country uses 220-240 volts as a standard.
Provided that your power adapter displays the following information, (100V~240V) 50/60 hz - it can be used overseas.
**You may require an adapter to change the plug shape to match the outlet.
Color system
You can view your recording in the viewfinder. However, to view it on a television or copy it to a videocassette recorder, the television or VCR must be NTSC compatible and have the appropriate audio/video jacks. Otherwise, you may need to use a transcoder.
Note: You can make recordings with your camcorder and view pictures on the LCD from anywhere in the world.
The operating voltage of the AC Adapter Kit/Compact Power Adapter/Battery Charger is 100V - 240V and conforms with international standards.
Voltage may be unstable in some countries/regions. Please take care when using the device.
The shape of the plug varies depending on the country/region. Make sure the conversion plug adapter is the right shape for your location.
