Hi Philter, when you change the resolution to their recommended pixel (1024x768), is it solve your problem? If not, this properly is the lcd mainboard problem. Because i have try some of the samsung lcd monitor have this type of problem. If you're a component level repairman, then you can try to change the EPROM IC and reprogrma their data inside that ic. This will solve problem. Any lcd repair information, please visit this site http://www.fastrepairguide.com . You also can get some lcd monitore service manual.

Did it work properly using a VGA (analog) cable? If so, check your DVI (digital) cable against the pictures at the bottom of http://www.datapro.net/techinfo/dvi_info.html.
You probably have one of the two at the left. Each has a different bandwidth, translating to a maximum resolution. The native resolution for your monitor might be marginal if you have a single-link DVI-D cable.
My 204B seems very picky about signal-level. It blinks when connected by DVI, even though it should be fine with a single-link cable, and complains about the settings even though the settings are optimal. Maybe yours is similar. I have ordered a dual-link cable and will try that myself.

Does the monitor remain on does it switch off?
Problem seems to be hardware related ie monitor itself is defective.Try connecting to another known working system. If monitor is defective it could be a power/inverter related issue or panel could be defective.
Please provide feedback and rate the solution.
