The ps3 does not appear on my tv screen.I replaced the AV chords and it still fails to appear.

try geting a new hdmi cable or a new av cable and plug it in turn on the ps3 let it sit turned on for a while and a message should pop up saying it has found a hdmi or av output witch ever you are using and it will ask you if you want to use it as the ouput to the tv and then you will select yes. if that dident work your gpu (graphics processing unit) has over heated and you will have to send it to sony or take it apart and reflow the prosesers and gpu

If your tv has hdmi ports I would recommend that instead of the standard YWR-AV you will have way a better sound and picture.

With the PS3 in stand by mode, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, then you'll hear a second beep. This will reset the PS3 display back to 480i. From there, follow the on-screen instructions to set it back up to the resolution you want.

Don't use A/V cables with a PS3. It diminishes the quality. If you have HDMI, use it.

Standard AV

1 Turn off the PS3.

2 Connect the flat end of the PS3 AV cable into the "AV Multi Out" port on the back of the PS3.

3 Connect the "red," "white" and "yellow" prongs on the opposite end of the PS3 AV cable into the corresponding "red," "white" and "yellow" AV inputs on the TV (usually located on the side or in the back).

4 Press the "Source" button on the Philips TV remote.

5 Select the "AV" video display mode.

6 Turn on the PS3. The PS3 logo will appear on the screen.

HDMI Connection

1. this sucks it scared me when it happened to me but the fix is simple
2. Put ps3 in stand by mode
3. Hold power button till it beebs 2 times
4. go to reset output or somthing of that nature
5. You should have video if not let me know and ill find a fix.

hello,,when you connect a hdmi you have to into the menu and select hdmi this should give you a 1080p picture mode

Sounds like the Video device for your PS3 has died. You will have to either replace it, or contact PlayStation about getting it repaired.

you need a scart box the one that you put the yellow red white plugs in to then you put it in the back of the TV than go to av on the TV remote that normally works on new and old TVs

unless there is a switch on the ps3 itself to change to normal tv, you may have to reconnect the ps3 via HDMI and change the screen resolution back to 480p or change the settings in the setup from hdmi to av.
